They invested a first and second rounder on the secondary. How are they working out?

McLaurin, Dotson, Allen, Payne, Curl, Cosmi, and Howell are keepers for me.

I can't deny it, but given that list and not wanting to completely rid the team of any semblance of its current makeup, I selected Curl as that remnant. Just thinking about teams that did it there's usually one guy that's still there. I know that Peters hung in there for Philly for quite a while.

i don,t see rivera running he defense making it any better pretty hard to topple del rio,s inadequacy.

Curl doesnt deserve a long term deal either.

Safety play hasnt been any better than offensive line play.

Last year with Harris here the defense was very good, but even under Harris the defense was terrible until Curl came back. Imho Curl is the guy you don't appreciate until he's not in the lineup.

If he asks for crazy money that might give me pause because the turnovers aren't there. They play him up so much its hard to hold that against him though.

I like Forrest, but this team needs a stud FS.

Something to consider. A new coaching staff likely will want to implement different schemes. How does that effect what the team needs compared to what they have?

With Allen and Payne on the roster, I would hope they go 43. I doubt Allen or Payne want to be a nose. I know teams rarely play a traditional 34 or 43, but i think Davis as a go get the QB 43 OLB would do wonders for him.

I like the way that he plays, but considering how little real defense is still allowed he's a pretty good one!

On second thought a 34 could work with a Payne/Mathis/Allen front. Could eliminate the need to go edge shopping this off-season.

In reality we are only talking base defense. In today's NFL you have to be so multiple depending on down ... distance and opponent.

Curl has been out of position too .... we don't know the scheme so who knows who is at fault but right now the entire defense sucks.

There have been so many out of position that you have to wonder if it is a communication and a coaching issue. We know Curl can play, let’s not throw out the baby with the bath water.
