it could be that Johnson didnt think he was ready, that he was asking and not going to get an exhorbitant salary and chose to save face, or didnt like either the seahawks or commanders situation.

Maybe he has a young family and doesnt want to uproot then.

I dont think it’s that terrible that he made his final decision when washington was midflight. Decisions are made whenever they are made, and it isnt like Harris was flying coach.

I really hope it’s not Quinn though. He looked bad as a head coach and even worse getting exposed by green bay in the playoffs.

That’s two really really bad playoff losses.

I have said for a year or more I would love to have Quinn. His best year was with Kyle as OC. I think Adam and Dan have to work on that together if it is the direction they go in. Dan knows defense and he is a leader. They would have to work together on offense. Same would be true for McDonald.

Who Quinn's OC woukd be I assume would be major for Harris and Peters.

Jeez.

A LOT of hyperventilating going on, on here.

Slowick, Johnson, and McDonald are NOT the end all / be all of new coaching hires. They might be amazing coaching hires. They might be as good as the Shanahan tree guys. But they also might not. Johnson AND Slowick took themselves out of the running to return to their positions.
That by itself means they aren't the end all be all.

Skinsdad is right: gotta let these people do their thing. That includes McDonald flying out to seattle for a second interview, and the commanders interviewing Quinn multiple times.

At the beginning of this year, NOBODY was thinking about Johnson as the head coach for the Commanders, and probably not Slowick either. They were both unknowns.

Have some faith in Peters. He's been in the league for a while in a great front office, and has more infor about candidates than we do.
