Hope it's on national TV
It's going to be the feature 1:00 PM CBS game, which means that the Patriots will have an AFC opponent. Can't be an AFCE opponent. Won't be the Colts because the Germany game. Can't be the Chiefs, they're in Detroit. The only other AFC team scheduled to play the Patriots at home is the Chargers.

If it's a Fox telecast, then they will most likely push it to the national 4:30 PM game. Only other teams available playing the Patriots at home:
Eagles, Saints & Commanders

Why does it have to be an AFC opponent? I was under the impression we opened with the Iggles?

Rumor is circulating that BB and the TB Bucs are talking about a 2024 2nd round pick and Kendrick Borne for WR Mike Evans.

Bucs want a first round pick and BB said no. The talks died for about 12 hours and the Supposedly the Bucs have asked for Borne. Evens is a 4 time Pro-Bowler who didn't gel,100% with TB12 and his way of spreading the wealth.

Knowing Bill, he'll find an alternative to Bourne or gat them to take Bourne nd a third round pick.

Nothing more is available. This moightn be someone's pipedream.

BB has $12.9M in cap space and cash. Hopkins isn't budging for his $17.9 and the Bills are drooling that Cards will release him. More likely that they will take anything they can get before regular camp opens in July. Bill's cannot afford his money as is.

Patriots are out.

I think the Pats keep Bourne and he flourishes under BoB.

If the rookie works out then we are flush at WR.

Bourne is a FA in 2024. If BB can get Evans for 2-3 years and do it for Bourne and a 3rd or 4th round pick, Bill will do the deal and get a #1 for minimal cost. Like Southie said, It's the cash, not the cap.

NOT A RUMOR

Cardinls Release WR DeAndre Hopkins
  • Hopkins, who turns 31 in June, is now a free agent after a tumultuous three-year run with the Cardinals when injuries and a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs forced him to miss 15 games in the last two seasons.

Believe it or not.

The Cardinals couldn't trade him because he had a $36M cap hit this year.

The cards must eat a $22.7M dead money hit.

Cardinals released DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins still looked like a worthy No. 1 target last year, going for 64/717/3 in nine starts after a PED suspension. It's surprising that the Cardinals couldn't find a single taker for him, even on a $29 million cap number. Arizona will save some cap space on the transaction. Hopkins will be able to shop his services to teams directly now, and has been tied at various points this offseasons to contenders like the Bills and Chiefs as well as WR-needy teams like the Titans and Patriots. The fantasy fallout of this for Hopkins could ultimately be positive news. It also elevates the fantasy stock for Arizona's other wideouts, who figure to draw more targets in Hopkins' absence. Hollywood Brown, for example, did not clear 61 yards with Hopkins back. He cleared it in five of six games without Hopkins.

And all media sources will tie him to the Pats
The Bills are after hum. He said he'd like to play with Josh Allen and says that they would make the best combination in the history of the NFL.

Get this. Hopkins actual salary for 2023 would have been $19.7M. The Bills have $2.9M cap space. They would have to move a shit ton of contracts to fit Hopkins who has said that he wants $20M or more. BB isn't going to pay him anywhere within a crotch hair of that kind of money,

maybe we can get jimmy back :suds:

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reports Jimmy Garoppolo can be released without penalty by the Raiders this summer because of his 2022 foot injury.

Garoppolo's deal originally included an $11.25 million signing bonus, but that was converted to part of his base salary after he failed his Raiders physical this spring. Garoppolo can be cut for "any reason" related to his foot, but his $22.5 million salary becomes guaranteed once he "passes a physical exam, is active for at least one regular-season game, and does not suffer re-injury to his left foot." It would certainly seem Garoppolo's physical was most disturbing to the Silver and Black. What was already looking like a questionable signing now has the makings of a potential fiasco.

So why go after him? Failed fisical, $22M, four QBs on the roster.

If we're going to spend that kind of coin go get Hhop.
