I hear that. At the same time, dude maintains his innocence and there are no criminal charges. It’s not like this is an open and shut indefensible situation. Gun to my head? He’s probably the asshole he projects to be. But dude has enough of that all important plausible deniability because of no criminal charges.

I hear you, but you don’t get accused by 22 different women without being the asshole he projects to be.

I wouldn’t want him as the face of my franchise because of that.

So I guess we will just roll with Carson Wentz?

He sucks, but he isn’t a criminal.

Yet, anyway. Maybe Snyder can help change that.

Why? That game manager is more accomplished and better than the game manager you already have.
Well bc he is another game manager, yes a better one but I've seen him with elite defenses and weapons and absolutely lay an egg

For me it would depend on contact length and terms. Maybe Jimmy G is a stop gap because the 2022 draft blows for QBs and they’re looking for their real Qb of the future in the 2023 or 2024 draft.

My opinion is where the Browns are right now they're not a S.B. contender.

One trip to the playoffs doesn't mean anything really.
Fair without seeing it but think we have more talent than the team that went 11-5. also think we look to be closer than the other suitors for him.

That game manager really is a game manager.
Yeah we’ve done this before. I know how this goes.
You see game manager as a negative term; I don’t see it that way.
You’re also one of the few football fans you’ll find that would argue that Baker Mayfield isn’t a game manager. I’m not changing your mind. You’re not changing my mind. You’re more than welcome to hang with the 2-3% of football fans that would argue that Mayfield isn’t a game manager and maybe some day you’ll be right and the rest of the football fans out there will be wrong. But today isn’t that day and Baker Mayfield is still largely seen as a game manager.

He only has one year left unless they worked out an extension and possible lower 2022 salary...idk.

Also, FA isn't over so if players see Watson go to a team that has money they could flock to that team. Like a team getting superstars in the NBA, they want to win. Regardless with the Baker salary and possibly Keenum salary the Browns have a good bit of money to add some nice pieces. We would have to see still need an EDGE, IDL's and WR's-maybe another TE. Could also address any of those in the 1st

I do think game manager is not a bad term.....and I also see when Baker struggles it's because he tries to do too much. Because he's not a game manager.

well, with watson it's likely we have no first rounder.

as of this moment, here is the remaining cap space among his suitors (unless there's one we don't know about) according to Spotrac.
Carolina - $30.4 mil
Browns - $12.7 mil
Atlanta - $5.4 mil
Saints - $2.4 mil

Carolina clearly has the most but don't think they'd be dumping a high QB salary like the Browns would if we acquired Watson (maybe I'm forgetting about someone?)

I agree. Jameis was a game manager for the saints in his 6+ games and that's what they needed. If you have a running game and defense, a game manager is all you need. But being a game manager requires good decision making which is what baker lacked at times

See, to me, the bold is what makes him a game manager. He's a guy who, when he's got good pieces around him and he stays within the system...he's fine. His team will win a lot of games, make the playoffs and maybe win a Super Bowl.

Where he struggles is when he steps out of that role and tries to be elite. I don't think he'll ever be elite, but I think he can be a higher end game manager. By that I mean, he can make the occasional play/throw when his team needs it/operate outside the system...but won't be consistent enough at it to be elite...if that makes sense.

I mean, I think this is what you'd want from any QB...which makes them all game managers, no (at least the good ones)?

When I think franchise QB I think about guys like Mahomes Rodgers Manning Brady Brees etc… I see guys whose team place the game and their outcome entirely in the hands of their QB and it results in them winning a ton of games and competing for championships. The game manager is a guy who is very roster dependent. The franchise QB can survive holes in the roster. Rodgers has rarely had a defense. Brady had a revolving door at WR in his career and a spotty OL at other times. Mahomes is a projection because we’ve never seen dude without greatness at TE and WR1 but dude has overcome spotty defense.

Truth be told, I would call the bottom half of 32 teams every year a guy who is best in the role of game manager. They are heavily roster dependent. There are only really 4-6 true franchise guys in the league at any one time that isn’t heavily roster dependent for their success. You know those type of guys are going to have their teams there every year regardless of issues and holes on a roster.
