He built a winning defense with less talent at UVa and at Temple. I'm still thinking its a Miami is DogShit thing and not an Al Golden sucks thing.
Where to begin......First off, Golden coached at UVA back in 2001 - 2005. I think offenses have revolutionized a bit since then (especially around his tenure at Miami). At Temple, Golden brought them from the cellar, but, unless he had a talent advantage, never even won his conference. Golden never even won the MAC while at Temple, think about that.

You're going to have to explain the whole Miami sucks thing, it's not Al Golden's fault. Because Al Golden was literally the head coach while at Miami. Every thing that goes on the program goes as he wants it to. Golden had the most susceptible defenses and never adapted to more of the spread concepts that were prevalent in today's age of CFB.

Miami was still considered a sleeping giant when Golden took that job. Now that job is a black hole. Cristobal is about to get Scott Frosted
Scott Foster doesn't have any recruiting ground in Nebraska. His area of recruiting is relegated to the Mid-West and no longer recruits itself nationally.

Miami has among the most talent rich states. Cristobal literally took a recruiting class ranked in the 70's and brought in a top 15 class in just 2 months. This is also a guy that took FIU (you use Golden as an analogy with Temple) and took them from a near-winless program and won a bowl game with FIU (a school that at a time didn't even have a gym when he got there), and then he went on to coach under Saban.

Mario may crash and burn at Miami, who knows. But that guy works unlike his predecessors. You have literally provided zero argument to why Golden would work out other than "Miami sucks, bro".

Edit: And fans knew where the program stood when Golden took over. We knew we had to do a rebuild as culture was off. Golden didn't do anything to fix that.

Miami sucks because Miami has always sucked save a period of time in which they flouted rules and bought players during the 80s and 90s. Since that time, Miami has rooted that out of their program and they have never been a serious player in the sport since. You lived this reality why do I have to explain this to you?

LOL, holy fuck.

Yeah, Miami's the only program to ever buy players.

I don't need to respond to your outstandingly bad takes.

I never made that claim. I said Miami has never been anything in the sport when they weren’t a confirmed cheat.

Nevin Shapiro.
Nevin came into the picture after the '01 title bud.

And if you're going to bring him up, everyone wanted the death penalty for Miami when his long list of allegations came out. You want to know why Miami only lost 9 scholly's over a 3-year period?

I'll give you a hint.....it's because most of his allegations were utter bullshit. Sort of like your arguing points - shit.

Not a Miami person but I will say I was confused with the Manny Diaz thing, he hadn’t shown much.

That's one of the main reasons Blake James (now Miami's former AD) got fired. He had no long-term vision for the program and was unqualified to boot. We're in far better shape now that Radovich (Clemson's former AD) is at Miami. If you don't have a quality AD, you're sunk overall, and that includes football.

A booster that contributes to financially getting players to sign with a particular school? LOL, probably not.

You really think this is just Miami this happens to?

If you do, you're beyond naive. This shit happens at just about every single Power 5 school, whether it be LSU, Clemson, Bama, UGA (especially this school), etc... It's the way of the world.

Just learned something today, Miami apparently is the only school ever in the history of college football to get players to sign because of money. Crazy. Thanks, @fightinfunbags

Yeah, from what I remember (correct me if I have anything mixed up), it ended up looking worse than it actually was. Because of the influence he had for a short time, he was able to do some things that were embarrassing to Miami when his accusations came out...but from what I recall, it was more than a nothing burger but less than a something burger.

Basically, from what I recall, he was a wannabe who ended up with a lot of money, threw it around the program so he could be a big shot with the program, crossed a couple of lines, but then everything fell apart for him before he could do any real damage.

But for a little while, things looked real bad.

The NCAA's model is horrid. They depend on member schools to police themselves. You can be sure that if word comes out about one guy there are dozens more doing the same thing.
