No way to know for sure, give me a guy that will try every time
and don't kid yourself...if he had surgery and shut himself down the same people criticizing him for playing would criticize him for abandoning his team even though cleared to play.

Exactly, you can’t criticize a player for playing through an injury that the team allowed him to do

So you could rip him for giving up on the season when cleared to play?

If it was the team shutting him down, no reason to rip him. Maybe not after week 3, but certainly much sooner than week 18.

why would the team shut down a player cleared by team doctors to play while still in the hunt for the playoffs? and, sure, by game time in week 17 we were not, but he practiced all week with the 1s to start

Look, you'd have found a reason to complain about him no matter what he did and that's cool. No reason to not own the agenda.

Not my point whatsoever. The team should've realized that he wasn't leading them to a Super Bowl in his current state and thought of the future IMO, but my original point is that giving credit for getting surgery ASAP after the team shuts him down for week 18 with no playoffs coming seems unnecessary. Unless he was going to pull a Michael Thomas and not get surgery until next season to be a real prick, of course he would move forward with the surgery now.

Yeah, but it's still a failure because they didn't do it in his first season. Wiggy said so...right @Wamu? :heh:

Damn right. And don't forget LeBron's prime ended the moment he signed with the Lakers because of all the NBA mileage he has.

I don't know about that. Imo, this may be a situation where the Browns needed to save Baker from himself, so to speak.

One of the reasons I like Baker is that he has that "if I can walk, I can play/you're gonna have to drag me off of this field" attitude that I love. But his injuries were clearly effecting his play.

My guess is that if they weren't so close to having to make a decision on him, they probably do pull him. But he wanted to play, they have a decision to make and he probably wanted to try to earn himself as much money as possible. So, for better or worse, he played.

Had breakfast for dinner the other night.....wife scrambled the eggs and I added 4 state cheddar to it along with bacon bits and mild Taco Bell hot sauce with a little salt and pepper. Had 3 slices of unbuttered white bread and washed it all down with beer.

If he brought just 1 title.....it's just fine.

2? It's all gravy.

Well don't forget the Lakers '20 title has an asterisk next to it. Riley said so and a certain Heat, Saints & Yankees fan that told me to never respond or @-him again (comment # 7128) defended Riley's absurd asterisk comment.

Fucking dog had a plate of about 2 eggs (I think I had about 6, the wife had 2 or 3) and the dog comes to give me the puppy dog eyes while I'm eating.....the wife and I are considering The Waffle House after we go to the store for essential shit we need.

@trojanfan12!

What do you think of Lincoln Riley?

So far, so good. He kept Donte Williams who is the one assistant I thought should be kept and seems to be massively upgrading the rest of the staff. Thats not even looking at what hiring him has done for recruiting. The 2023 recruiting class is top 10.

Of course, all of this has to equate to performance on the field, but no complaints so far.
