I just heard this and was about to come in here and tag you.

I think he would be a solid for for the Iggles.
Yeah I’m not mad about this at all. Unlike the last group he’s going to do a professional job.

Dave Canales got the Carolina Panthers job.

He turned around Geno in Seattle and Mayfield in Tampa this past season.

I feel for him, that Panthers owner is impossible

He does the same with his other sports franchise too

That's why I think leagues should do more to "police" owners and hold them accountable. It can already be a bit tougher for a smaller market team compete...an idiot for an owner makes it damn near impossible.

Teams like the Thunder and Cavs have shown that smaller markets can compete, they just have to be a little smarter and a little more patient.

He should've been better vetted perhaps. Billionaires playing with their toys and firing people mid tantrum is a bad look.

Then again, if he wants to pay his former coaches to stay home, not the worst deal (if your ego and reputation can take the hit from being fired).

would be nice if they would also only allow owners who had a will to win and are not looking to maximize year to year profits.

And I think it’s pretty obvious that in the nfl it’s a lot easier for a small market to compete. It’s all about decision making, and that’s his problem.

Yep. Before he was exposed as a racist, that was the issue with Donald Sterling. He was just happy to "be in the club" but wasn't interested in actually spending what it took to be competitive and he didn't even have the small market excuse to fall back on.

guess without the rules to force more spending this would be hard to do.....like no floor in MLB.

Yep. I'm a much bigger fan of salary floors than I am salary caps. Even with floors, there are owners who will just stick near the floor. But at least it's something that should encourage more owners to try to compete.
