I guess the TE coach being let go is a little odd as Njoku was pretty good and Bryant/atkins were OK for backups. But honestly before it was announced I could not have even told you who our TE coach was.

Probably more a function of new OC wanting a clean slate than job performance of incumbents.

Not sure how they know what that is, given the rash of injuries they dealt with. They need to play to the strengths of the QB they are tied to whether they like it or not. Van Pelt had reportedly been giving Watson a lot of input into the offense (at least per reports in August). Do they try to bring in an OC he had experience with in Houston? Tim Kelly is with the Titans, Bill O'Brien?
No idea but guessing they have their reasons....hell, one report said mutually parted ways so maybe the guy wanted to go somewhere that he could call plays. My guess is Stefanski wanted someone with more experience who could do more with the offense but who knows?

I don't think it was any kind of scape goat situation as why would one be needed?

Makes sense....as far as I know the WR coach is staying and cannot see any way they let the OL coach go, though.

@bksballer89 you see where Tiafoe got bounced in the 2nd round? Surprising.

Yep he lacks the consistency needed to be a top player which is why he can never be in the top 10 for long. We still got some other Americans ranked in so hopefully they can make a run into round of 16 or later

I really thought he was our best shot at a major any time soon though.

I like the Shelton kid a lot. Not sure if you remember him because he's the dude Djokovic beat in the US Open semis.

Just turned 21 and is approaching the top 15. 1 win away from a rematch with Djokovic in the round of 16

As for Tiafoe, US Open always when he comes to play at the grand slams so my hopes for him are very low at the other 3.....Make the 2nd week and I'll be happy lol

Oh I remember Shelton, not saying he’s a punk but he’s got some fire in him as I recall.

That’s a huge mistake

Yeah, it's a tough call. On one hand, hard to fire a dude who wins 12 games every year...on the other hand, how many times can you underachieve in the playoffs and keep your job?

Reminds me of when Del Harris coached the Shaq/Kobe Lakers and couldn't get past the 2nd round.

As a certified Cowboys hater, I think this was the right move for them. Jerry Jones didn’t Jerrah Jones. Jerrah would have fired McCarthy and hired Belichick right away cause it shows “he means business about winning a Super Bowl”. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have made great strides. They’ve been drafting well. And they finally have continuity with him running the offense. This was just year 1 in that post Kellen Moore offense and Dak was an MVP candidate. I think keeping him is the smart move for at least one more year.

Mike McCarthy constantly shat the bed in Green Bay in the playoffs, probably costed them at least another SB.

Mike McCarthy keeps shitting the bed in Dallas.

Brilliant move, Jerry. Masterful gambit, sir.

And they shouldn't have because he's shown why he was a career backup. Also, he didn't have red flags like Baker does. He was a career backup who had been decent in his opportunities.

lol Geno Smith didn't have red flags?

he was horrible his first six years

granted... baker should be better given their relative draft spots
