Not important at all honestly. He actually might have had he been in the same situation but it doesn’t matter because he wasn’t completely unreasonable in contract negotiations. I wonder how many more teams will announce today they are out on Jackson? A couple more I bet.
It’s very important. Are you being dismissive or do you not get it? You have every right to be wrong but it’s stone cold insanity for a fan to project that a player should play hurt on the last year of his deal. He would have had $200 + million dollars of future earnings on the line if he plays in the playoffs and further damages his knee. Where is RGIII?

I would expect all of them to make an announcement at some point and it would totally not be collusion. The NFL owners have never practiced collusion.

That’s the position he put himself in, didn’t have to be that way. Not traveling with the team was totally unacceptable, he has lost part of that locker room over it anyway.

I actually think the players are more on his side than ownership/FO. The GM just threw Bateman under the bus. I think the team is fine supporting Jackson, sure some teammates but most are on the players' side

After the union got ahold of him yes. They wanted Jackson on the field for the last few games because they knew he could. My main issue with it is Jackson was the one that broke off negotiations until after the season. If you aren’t going to play what you have committed to play you keep negotiating.

View attachment 322810this is nuts....wife sent me this.

Herbert, Burrow (and maybe Tua) will eclipse those numbers soon enough. It's all about timing and the endless climbing of QB salaries.

Carr's contract is just as egregious if you want to compare it to Mahomes', lol.

He doesn't have an agent and doesn't want that distraction during the season.

Lol ok, if you make that decision you play out the season. If you want to bet on yourself you should push it all in.

Ravens could've gotten this done before the Watson deal and not guaranteed the entire contract most likely. Shit or get off the pot. Make a real offer (not $100M apart or whatever that rumor was) and keep or trade him. Not exactly endearing themselves to their other upcoming free agents.

They made an incredible offer, you are wrong on that. Jackson demanded a full guarantee. That’s not happening.

Yeah but he needs one now more than ever. I think what BAL initially offered Lamar was definitely a damn good offer. He should have accepted

I do feel a bit bad for the guy having the union pushing him so hard. Another case of a union only looking out for the top guys. Anything the qbs get takes money away from the rank and file, which is what a union is supposed to be about.

That’s debatable (blame for his position). Fact is though that you are demanding he takes on a level of risk that could have ruined his career and future earnings. That’s out of bounds. I agree with you on not traveling though.

In fairness, that has little to do with the quality of the claim. The NFL model is so slanted in favor of the owners that you will always see 9 out of 10 players side with the player over ownership in every dispute.

Where did he commit to playing with an injured compromised knee and risking his livelihood?

According to leaks from the Ravens front office. You don’t know the legitimacy of those claims because you weren’t invited to the negotiations.

No the leaks came from Jackson, but he failed to leak the actual accrued amount of the guarantee.
