Only issue I'd have with Bryce Young is his size. We'll see if that holds him back in his NFL career, though...

Yeah the 1st down thing is the biggie, but at least not in the last 2 minutes where a 1st down is almost a timeout. The others won’t matter much. This isn't so bad @thunderc
The rule changes under consideration include: running the clock after a first down is awarded, except in the last two minutes of either half; eliminating the option for teams to call consecutive team timeouts; and carrying over any fouls to the next period instead of finishing with an untimed down.

He's lucky ribs weren't broken. NC State player should have been tossed
a couple crucial late INTs that were very costly but otherwise agree....he played much better than I expected. If no other options that's exactly what he is...a bridge QB. He doesn't make many mistakes though, a smart veteran. He impressed me considering I had zero expectations
I wonder if he thinks the other dozen or so GMs who badly wanted Watson for themselves should be mad (and likely would have paid the same price).Good riddance as far as I’m concerned

A game changer for sure, but guessing many of the other dozen or so teams who wanted him would have done the same or a similar deal. I mean, how often does a QB like him become available in prime of his career (and with a no trade clause)?Yep. @Wamu will disagree but with the way contract negotiation works, that was a game changer. I’m hoping my Birds can get off the hook with only guaranteeing 2/3 of the eventual contract.
I mean, it's likely if they wanted him that badly they could have extended LJ BEFORE the Browns (or someone else) dealt for and redid Watson's deal. What a quote for the Browns' fans, yikes....
There are many things that make sense. First and foremost it got the Browns the franchise QB they (and many other teams) wanted.I don't get into all the details like that. But at least there's something that makes sense about the contract.
