Why don't you just say that Young's already a better NFL qb than Fields? :heh:

This isn't so bad @thunderc

The rule changes under consideration include: running the clock after a first down is awarded, except in the last two minutes of either half; eliminating the option for teams to call consecutive team timeouts; and carrying over any fouls to the next period instead of finishing with an untimed down.

Yeah the 1st down thing is the biggie, but at least not in the last 2 minutes where a 1st down is almost a timeout. The others won’t matter much.

Would it be a good idea to buy a few pairs of the 1st edition sneakers of VW and Scoot Henderson and just put them away in a closet for 10 years?

If no other options that's exactly what he is...a bridge QB. He doesn't make many mistakes though, a smart veteran. He impressed me considering I had zero expectations
a couple crucial late INTs that were very costly but otherwise agree....he played much better than I expected.

Yep. @Wamu will disagree but with the way contract negotiation works, that was a game changer. I’m hoping my Birds can get off the hook with only guaranteeing 2/3 of the eventual contract.
A game changer for sure, but guessing many of the other dozen or so teams who wanted him would have done the same or a similar deal. I mean, how often does a QB like him become available in prime of his career (and with a no trade clause)?

What a quote for the Browns' fans, yikes....
I mean, it's likely if they wanted him that badly they could have extended LJ BEFORE the Browns (or someone else) dealt for and redid Watson's deal. :noidea:

I don't get into all the details like that. But at least there's something that makes sense about the contract.
There are many things that make sense. First and foremost it got the Browns the franchise QB they (and many other teams) wanted.

If he plays as hoped, it wont matter that the deal is fully guaranteed as we'll be happy to pay it AND he will likely be underpaid in a year or 2. If he does not play well, we are Fd whether his deal was fully guaranteed or partially.
