Like I said, not paying Jones $40+M/year. He hasn’t shown he is worth it. Why just pay him bc you don’t have better options? Then you are stuck in a bad long-term deal. Even if the 22M looked bad last year, they should have given if more thought.

The franchise tag is a tool for poor organizations and front offices. It’s adversarial by its very nature. It breeds contempt and ill will. It should be an action that you never want to utilize.

Absolutely. In addition, using it to overpay at RB or with a midrange QB seems poor too.

Yeah it is. I only trust Spotrac but so many moves who really knows. A simple Watson restructure and they are looking at $20M in cap that's why that number means nothing at this point
