agree not a conspiracy. At least in sense there was collusion to avoid him.

Indirectly yes.

Colin was direct. Tebow less so but collusion in the sense no one wanted his weirdo fan club along for the ride of his backup level talent.

No social media but didn't stop pops from getting picked top 3.....and at least based on what we heard in interviews pops was far more arrogant in college.

Pops was a far better talent too. He was considered a "can't miss" pick.

@thunderc so what do you think of Gabriel?

I watched him more when he got to Oregon. Tbh at one point I thought he was one of the better getting drafted but I just didn’t see him as a pro guy. He has underrated speed and escapability though
admittedly a curious pick at the time but just proved again should not listen to many reports. Right or wrong clearly the Browns liked him as they met with him AND kept it a secret that they did. doubt they were alone.

Will he become anything? Like most 3rd round QBs odds are against it.

I don't know about completely, but a lot of it, yeah. He's Prime Times son, so he's getting a lot of attention...probably more than he deserves considering his stats.

I see him as a lot like Bronny. If he can just be allowed to be Bronny and continue to develop, he can possibly be a solid rotational player. But being Lebron's son could end up being too much.

If Shadeur can just go to a team where he can spend a few years developing...maybe he can be more?

Someone mentioned the Raiders with Brady taking him in a later round...that might actually be a good landing spot for him. Who better than Brady to maybe be a bit of a mentor for him? Plus, Geno is pretty much a consummate professional, so he could learn from him as well.
More than he deserves considering stats? His stats are pretty damn good if only looking at stats. Has the amount of starts a team would want....the accuracy/competiuon %, very good TD-INT ratio.

I don't doubt he showed some arrogance to some in interviews (had to be something).....but so far ones we have seen he maybe learned some things/grew up?

Deion saying he was going to steer him and there were a bunch of teams they didn’t want to play for didn’t help. Since it obviously was total bs Shadeur should have refuted that and put his head down and went to work.
Kind of did....he always said he will play where he is picked.

From what has come out, he interviewed poorly and may have intentionally "thrown" interviews with teams he didn't want to play for. Those are red flags.

Also, even without the bad interviews, unless he's a starter, he's going to be a distraction and there isn't much NFL coaches hate more than distractions. It's why Tim Tebow couldn't at least be a backup...don't want fans chanting his name every time the starting QB makes a mistake. Can't have more reporters at the backups locker than the starters.

Having said that, he has since come out and said that he regrets his pre-draft behavior. Hopefully, he has learned his lesson and will work hard for your team.
yeah no doubt no team with an established starter wants to deal with that for a backup.

Browns wasting a 3rd round pick on Gabriel going to be hilarious when Sanders beat him out in training camp
Yeah....a 5th rounder has never beaten out a 3rd rounder. And my goodness what if the kid plays so well he gets a big contract after his rookie deal expires? I bet they'd really hate to see that.

Only thing that makes sense…Milroe was their target and they got sniped. They panicked.
So absurd.....if they really wanted Milroe they don't wait until 94 to take him and likely with Rees they have insight if they wanted him or not.

I guess never mind - right or wrong - they may have just liked Gabriel and visited him and tried to keep it under wraps?

Yes as much as I like the TE pick you take Milroe there.

I would absolutely love to see somebody like Chuba Hubbard go to the mic with the pick, only to realize he was announcing his replacement.

Has that happened yet?

This is some real sicko stuff

You would’ve thought it was my idea lol

I had Milroe pegged for Pittsburg

He’s, in theory, the best of what trhy had last year with 2 guys

A good deep ball and that crazy running

A perfect fit for their current offensive structure

Pittsburgh not going qb until late was weird.

Heard someone this morning saying that he thinks that Deion being as outspoken as he is, may have a good bit to do with it too.

Said that owners, GM's coaches and fan bases aren't going to want to hear Deion complaining about how the OC isn't using him properly if he's playing or claiming Shadeur is better than the starter if he's not.

NFL teams may have seen Bronny as a "cautionary tale" about drafting the son of a legend. Bronny was picked 55th and people still bitched that he was drafted at all. Fortunately for the NBA (and Bronny) they have the G-League to stash him in.

The NFL doesn't have that...so Shadeur is likely going to be a distraction, especially if Deion starts talking...NFL coaches hate distractions more than anything.
Is something to be said for this but during season thinking Deion gonna be kind of busy with his own team.

I knew it! It was Haslam. Rich as fuck owner that tries to be involved in everything. He wanted Watson and now he wanted Shedeur. Having a good owner is one of the most underrated aspects of sports IMO Berry and Stefanski look miserable

I'd say don't be the guy who will believe all the narratives to support an agenda. I mean, the coach kind of looks like that after a huge game winning score. Berry not that emotional either. In addition, these can be captured at the wrong time.

Did you see Haslam on the one they showed after the trade of #2 pick shown? He looked like he might really be upset about it. Guess they made the deal without his approval? At worse, these guys had the type of expressions they usually do. Calm and measured.

enough real things to be upset about with this team....no need to make things up for which to be critical.

Miserable? come on.
