I agree....

I will say if Flacco doesn't recapture what he did previously with the Browns.....I could see them trading Flacco at the deadline to a team who needs a QB due to injury or for whatever reason the other teams needs a QB.

And the Browns going with a youngster (most likely Sanders) at QB.
If Flacco does not play well not sure anyone would want him....but maybe.

You miss what he did in the Browns offense previously?

He wasn't as good with Indy but he was still better than what the Browns had last season.
He definitely had some moments....but was against some really bad teams (and Houston with no Stroud). Hope he does well if needed, of course.

Kind of how I looked at it, too.....but I have not sat down with Gabriel, watched film with him, seen every pass he has made, etc.

Also think seems to make more sense if it was sanders round 3 and Gabriel round 5 (or later). But if having them both OK doesn't really matter where they got them.

Getting sanders that late helps

If Gabriel a purdy type??

Kind of?

But it’s not an easy model to duplicate

Forget being a late pick

It’s just a tough profile to make work.

I would take odds for Flacco honestly. Even if it is just week one. The Watson odds make no sense, he won’t play another down for CLE lol. It is so early anything can happen or an injury

yeah agree with those odds Flacco the easy choice.....and if I can find it will put my $$ where mouth is.

I mean, vast majorty of mid-late round QBs amount to nothing if that's what you mean. No issue, though, if the team has no clear QB taking 2 swings at it.

That was the first part of what I mean

But neither are Elitr athletes or have big arms

You see guys like purdy and Gabriel every year

I really think Milroe has a lot of upside, don’t know what happened his last season but the one before was fantastic.
Didn't hate the idea of taking him but have to at least think if his former OC on our staff loved him we'd have taken him (at least before he went).

Yeah I saw a list of QB's that were ranked high pre-draft and dropped in the draft. It was like highest % to lowest. I think there was a total of like 30 QB's...none of them panned out in the league except Lamar Jackson and I think his % was very small. This was only like the last 15 years though.

Why not the Browns though, huh? lol

Didn't they have a first time play caller in Alabama last season, or am I thinking of a different QB situation?

With his upside that really shouldn’t be a deterrent.

But if you're a team with no good path at QB to get to 2027....

That's why I thought the Rams should consider him until they acquired that 2nd 2026 1st, as Stafford should be good for another 2 seasons. At that moment, the future QB plan shifted to next year's draft.

This was a big get for Seattle.
