kind of did even though you didn't mention him by name. didn't want to give him credit by saying any mediocre QB can play well in that system and that isn't really true...never mind Brissett has been below avg. in his career. Baker even worse since 2020

Stop your nonsense. And stop putting words in my mouth.

Ask for clarification if you don’t understand what I am trying to say.

Elite offensive line + elite running game = easy system for bad QBs to look decent.

Of course coaching matters, but I didn’t mention it because I wasn’t talking about coaching.

Bills already have an ex-Brown backing up Josh. Cowboys are better off at backup too. Niners are looking for a starter, big difference (and much bigger impact). Niners are ahead of both in the waiver order anyway (as well as the Eagles, Vikes, and Chiefs).
Mayfield and Niners both benefit from a claim by the Niners. He helps Niners remain live this year and Mayfield needs to get on the field and try and generate some value and interest.

don't need clarification. How about we look at your exact quote again......"Pretty mediocre QBs can have some really solid year in a system like that."

Brissett has played "in a system like that" in Indy. When was his "really solid year" there like he had here?

You just trying to start shit for no reason.

I don’t need to name Stefanski. He is a part of the system, is he not?

And actually, if you look at the numbers, his performance in Cleveland is pretty much right in line with what he did his last season starting in Indy.

Not starting anything.....Just hoping to hear all the other "pretty mediocre QBs having really solid years in this system"

and, wouldn't say his performance in Cleveland is "right in line" as it was in Indy. His QBR was 52. This year is 60

And many other numbers are better or close.

And obviously, the other bad QB who had a good year was Baker.

You pulled the one stat that isn’t comparable. Yards about the same. Same picks. 18 TDs to 12 now. TLance is right. Both years are pretty comparable. Additionally, because they were assessing him, the Colts pretty much let him play QB, especially early in that season instead of trying to protect him with play calling as the Browns are doing with him now.

so there are 2 and both are in a Stefanski offense? Maybe it's him?

doubtful anyone was looking at him as a guy who could get a fair chance to start. Now he might....we'll see, I guess.

That said I think it would be a mistake to bring him in as a starter unless it's a clear bridge QB.

FYI, that "one stat" pretty much takes everything into account. It rates what the QB did on every single play to help or hurt his team.

He is certainly part.

Never said he wasn’t.

But there aren’t only 2.

Jimmy Garrapolo.

Mitchell Trubisky for a year in Chicago. Ryan Tannehill.

There are many examples just off the top of my head.

FYI a 52 and a 60 in that stat both translate to bottom half of the league starter.

Nick Foles in Chip Kelly’s offense. Case Keenum in Minnesota
