Totally different QBs in nearly every way, but sure.Along with Baker Mayfield.

right...Phil’s likely value Marsh more than most. All season they’ve run out glorified minor leaguers in CF. They don’t need a great bat. The CF position has hit 7-9 all season. Anything they get from him at the plate is a bonus. Phil’s corner OF defense is a mess. Castellanos and Schwarber are both sub par defensive outfielders with limited range. A guy who can take charge in CF really helps their defense. They’re covered at the plate with Schwarber and Castellanos (starting to come out of his slump; the back of the baseball card never lies). A real loss was Harper’s elbow issue that will require off season surgery. It’s taken him out of RF and has made him exclusively a DH since late April.
Phil’s haven’t made the playoffs since 2011 and they went into the luxury tax. Phil’s ownership has drawn a line in the sand and the goal is playoff baseball. They are likely one and done once there but I think they’re solidly a playoff team if Segura and Harper come back in the next few weeks. The schedule helps as well because post All Star break almost half of their remaining 70 games at that time were against the bottom 5 of the NL. Pirates Reds Nationals Cubs and Rockies.
Well everyone knows he was a heavy weed head. Clearly it affected his thinking...What the hell was he thinking? What a dumbass.
Former NBAer Iman Shumpert arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth airport. Cops say they found six ounces.
And yet both guys are bottom 1/3 among league starters. Their teams don’t win because of them. They win in spite of them. They aren’t asked to lead their team’s attack. They spearhead a run heavy offense where the pass is the change up because they’re limited in terms of their talent and ability.Totally different QBs in nearly every way, but sure.
Thought the original thing was a 12 game suspension and a fine...what was "the original punishment?"
Bohm was never going to be a power guy. In the month of July he hit .440. He uses all fields. He doesn’t need to be a power guy on this team. Where he’s stepped forward is 3B defense. Unfortunately, that only takes him from God awful butcher to almost good enough. The biggest upgrade the Phil’s will get are Harper and Segura coming back. Those two guys are arguably their best hitters.right...
as I said on the last page - the bottom of the NL is really bad- especially the Reds and Nats now--- both those teams are just atrocious. Cubs are really really bad too. I would say out of the worst 10 teams in baseball 7 are in the NL and they have a lot of games against bad teams.
And as I said on the last page- if Castellanos actually hits- he represents a better upgrade than any hitter on the market not named Soto. He has been so bad though- like a .620 ops since May 1st.
I did not expect Bohm's career path to end up as a empty .300 avg. hitter that does not walk and hits for no power and plays terrible defense. He might have been a 60 FV guy in the minors. At one point I wanted the Guardians to focus a Lindor trade on him. That one really surprises me.
Adam Schekter on now talking about it. Said the CBA is clear from here. Things MUST be expedited from this point and the NFLs decision is FINAL and BINDING.
1 of my fave Vin moments was when Gibby hit the game winning homer.....
Like Sue Robinson? Hahaha
that was def. not the scouting report- from 2019: 65/70 PowerBohm was never going to be a power guy. In the month of July he hit .440. He uses all fields. You lean too much on projections and minor league results because you’re a fan of the team with the 28th ranked payroll in baseball. If every guy who showed power in the minors were really power hitters the league would be full of 35-40 HR a year hitters. Bohm’s career high in HRs will likely fall in the 20-25 range and most years will hit between 12-15. At the plate he is more Scott Rolen than he is Bryant.that was def. not the scouting report- from 2019: 65/70 Power
Bohm’s swing needs work but he has Kris Bryant‘s body and raw power and is similarly athletic, and probably stays at third base.
Bohm was under the scouting radar until a breakout campaign on Cape Cod, during which both he and teammate Greyson Jenista (a second round pick by the Braves) emerged as top tier bats in the 2018 draft. During the spring, Bohm steadily worked his way up from the late first round to the third overall pick by hitting more than scouts expected a long-limbed power threat to hit. Bohm pulls this off by keeping his arms tucked in during his swing and having a flatter plane; as a result he’s both quicker into the zone and in the zone longer than most power hitters. Ideally, hitters with Bohm’s plus-plus power have more loft in their swing plane and extend their arms to generate the most power, with Kris Bryant an example of a hitter with a similar frame and this more power-focused approach.
We’re projecting Bohm as a 50 bat with 60 game power and split the difference a bit–he could go even more extreme for power at the expense of contact–but there are a number of ways this offensive skillset could turn out, particularly with new and more progressive hitting instruction this year for the Phillies. Bohm’s defense also could go a few different ways, depending how much weight he adds to his lean frame and how his lateral quickness ages. Defensively, Bohm looks major league average at times and clearly below average at others, but he’ll get plenty of chances to make things work at third base.
obviously you do not know what FV stands for. it is a projection that only partially takes into account minor league stats. You lean too much on projections and minor league results because you’re a fan of the team with the 28th ranked payroll in baseball. “Obviously you’re not a slave to numbers of players you’ve never seen play much as I am”. Yep. You’re right.obviously you do not know what FV stands for. it is a projection that only partially takes into account minor league stats.
right now he is more like a light hitting SS.......325 OBP and .735 OPS. Amed Rosario has a higher OPS.
Rolen had a career 855 ops and hit 21 hr, and 31 hr, and 26 hr, his first 3 full seasons in the minors.
bad defense, a terrible walk rate, and empty average is not a good combo. During a nine year prime Rolen averaged 28 HR's btw
Bohm has near a 1000 at bats and like I said- looks much much closer to a light hitting SS than Scot Rolen who averaged about 28 bombs a year for the first decade of his career if you take out his one season where he was significantly injured.“Obviously you’re not a slave to numbers of players you’ve never seen play much as I am”. Yep. You’re right.
I spoke to Rolen as a hitter. I already called Bohm a poor defensive player.Bohm has near a 1000 at bats and like I said- looks much much closer to a light hitting SS than Scot Rolen who averaged about 28 bombs a year for the first decade of his career if you take out his one season where he was significantly injured.
That- and obviously Rolen was one of the best defensive 3rd basemen of the last couple decades. Only reason Bohm is still at 3B is Hoskins blocks him at 1B and he doesnt hit enough to be at 1B. A third overall pick with near a 1000 at bats known solely for his bat with an OPS just north of .700 is looking pretty sketch.
Yep.I agree they should cut a deal, but I think the NFL has all the leverage at this point.
Along with Baker Mayfield.
