Nice job of the umpire removing the bottom of the strike zone on kuma. I don't mind some bad calls but if you call 3 out of 4 pitches in a row wrong its time for a damn computer to do it.

Yeah, I noticed that too... Horrible strike zone with that ab... He even confused the Odor with that AB as well...

I have to say, Tom showed real restraint by going for the leg. Can only imagine being on the mound and having the entire other dugout laughing at you.

The strike zone has definitely been an issue tonight, but it's been more of an inside-outside issue than an up-down issue from what I can tell. At least the ump has been screwing both teams with it. The thing I noticed with Kuma was that he was having trouble keeping his splitter down, so he wasn't going to get consistent strike calls on it in the bottom of the zone when he did manage to put it there.

Say what you want about the previou coaching staff, but I don't think they would have reacted any differently than the current staff did to such an obvious intentional HBP. That was as blatant as it gets and we're lucky Iannetta only took it in the back of the leg.

I'd put my money on Iannetta. He looks like he could handle himself.

He's also got on base more in two games than Zunino did the entire month of August...
