Well be an a hole and back up my statement with actual facts.
Sorry, I didn't see yours and have been grinding my teeth on this one after watching O'Neill last night. It is simple, don't pay for something when you can get the comparable for free.

“We don't naturally want to block the young guys from having an opportunity. … But I say that, and this year is a great example of don't plan on five guys running through the season without hitting a bump in the road, either from an effectiveness or an injury perspective,” Dipoto said. “So we're going to go out, and we're going to see if we can stabilize or add to our starting rotation.”

The O’Neil trade and Taylor trades are meh.
At least with the O’Neil trade you got production back.
The Taylor trade I don’t think anyone expected Taylor to turn into what he did, but still not great.

But no the trade that by far is the worst is the Adam Lind trade, go ahead and search Freddy Peralta and tell me that wouldn’t be nice to have.

NWinAZ stated: ( and I agree 100% spot on )
the below is in reference to the Tyler Oneil trade that brought Marco Gonzalez to us when we shipped the young kid O'neil to St Louis couple years ago.

Marco was/is a guy that you can get in free agency any offseason. He isn't elite and unobtainable. So to give up your top prospect at the time for a guy like Marco (and remember he was coming off a year rehab), never made sense.

Here I would agree and disagree with you.

Agree that trading for an Adam Lind type player no matter what the cost is stupid. Much like Marco, easy to get a guy of his value w/o trading for him.

Disagree that it was the worst simply because Peralta wasn't even a Top 20 Mariners prospect in 2015 nor were the other 2 guys included. I can live with traded those type though I didn't like the return for the reasons I explained above.

This trade was much like a worse trade years before when we traded good ole David Ortiz. Panic trade for a low impact rental. I dislike those.

I still firmly agree on the blocking part. But if you can flip one of those prospects to add say an ace and fill in the prospects spot with a FA so be it. I would’ve flipped JRod and Kirby for Scherzer and Turner because that is the trade you make with your top guy. Max is old going into next year, but going into camp you have 3 ace ability guys with Gilbert, Hancock and Kirby, along with whatever Brash is going to bring. Maybe Williamson as well, plus the 3 other guys (count remember their names off the top of my head) who will all be vying for a spot or trade bait.

I just don’t see OF as a need at all this off-season. But I also truly hope Jerry doesn’t put Raleigh in the Kelenic and JRod camp of they are penciled in as a stater. They need a C, 2B, 3B and two pitchers, preferably an ace and another guy 6-7 inning guy like Castillo. The chances of a repeat from the bullpen performance is slim but if does it would make the 2022 season the best ever by a pen with adding Munoz and Giles. I liked Toro’s first couple of weeks but is anyone comfortable with him being penciled in at 2B or 3B? Maybe slide him into the Dylan Moore role.

1120XFERS-1000x500.jpg

we like the juco's who mpact the west..most though..lololol..even though we like the east..as well..

2022 Top 50 Impact JUCO Transfers: 11-20

12. Savier Pinales, SS, Wabash Valley (Ill.) / Gonzaga– A Wisconsin prep, Pinales was the leadoff hitter for Wabash Valley last spring where he slashed .491/570/.744 with 17 doubles, nine triples and five HR. A switch-hitter who stands 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, “Savi” also has game changing speed with 64 stolen bases and plus base running instincts. Defensively, Pinales shows plus hands and feet with the ability to throw from all angles. He’s a smooth defender with a quick release and average pro-caliber arm strength that plays up.

13. Noah Turley, 1B/OF, Yavapai (Ariz.) / Arizona– A Utah prep, Turley is a premium athlete with big-time juice. At 6-foot-5, 220 pounds he’s an imposing figure in the batter’s box. Last season at Yavapai the right-handed slugger belted 22 HR in 163 at-bats to go along with a .417 average. Turley also pitches, but control is an issue of his fastball that can reach into the mid-90s. He was originally slated to pitch in college, but his bat took off and he will now be counted on to man 1B and hit in the middle of the order for the Wildcats. Turley has drawn recent comparisons to former Wildcat Bobby Dalbec for his big-time power with high strikeout totals.

even though dallas batist is not west..i put them..anyway..
18. Miguel Santos, 2B, McLennan (Tex.) / Dallas Baptist– With a plus hit tool and good pop Santos helped lead McLennan to the 2021 JUCO D1 National Championship. The right-handed hitter posted a .344 batting average with 14 HR, 22 doubles, 55 RBI and a .626 SLG. He’s also a good defender and will likely start at the keystone for the Patriots this spring.

19. Crew Robinson, 2B, College of Southern Idaho / UC-San Diego– Although the 6-foot-1 lefty hitter struggled during a 29 at-bat (.138 average) late season appearance in the Cape this summer, Robinson raked last spring at Southern Idaho, putting together a .400/.490.776 slash with 14 HR. His tools are all average to above, with his hit tool being best. He projects to land a starting spot at either 2B or 3B this spring for th

@Podunkparte trying to quote you but you didn’t post anything other than quotes haha. Anyways

Lol. Nahhhh that’s a pass. Even if Taylor was an AS this year, he’s never developed into a consistent player. At least Moore is a consistently bad player that should be get rid of.

1. The Mariners outperformed their projected win total more than any other American League team.

Seattle won 90 games in 2021, finishing 2nd in the American League West. Prior to the season, FanGraphsZiPS Projections had the Mariners finishing 73–89, while Baseball ProspectusPECOTA Projections had the Mariners going 70–92. The Mariners outperformed both projections more than any other American League club in 2021.

· THE START OF SOMETHING — C Jose Godoy has hit safely in 30 of his last 39 games, including recording 16 multi-hit contests (7/31-c)…during this stretch he is batting .327 (55x168) with 24 runs scored, 10 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, 34 RBI, 7 walks and 1 stolen base.

2. The Mariners led the Majors with 33 one-run wins.

Seattle went 33–19 in games decided by 1 run in 2021, most 1-run victories in the Majors. The Mariners played in the most 1-run games in the American League, while their .635 winning percentage ranked 2nd-best in the AL.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH: RH Ryan Weber was named Triple-A West Pitcher of the Month by MiLB for the month of August. Weber went 2–0 with a 1.04 ERA (3 ER, 26.0 IP) in 4 starts. He held opponents to a .135 batting average (12x89) while walking 0 and striking out 25 over 26.0 innings. He started the month with 17 scoreless innings of work. Weber, 31, was originally selected by Atlanta in the 22nd round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

3. The Mariners led the Majors with 14 extra inning wins, tying a franchise record.

Twenty-one extra inning affairs were 2nd-most in the Majors to Minnesota’s 23, while the Mariners won more games in extra innings (14) than any other club. Seattle went 14–7 in extra innings, with their .667 winning percentage ranking 4th-best in MLB. The 14 wins also tied a franchise record for most extra inning wins in a season, matching their 2018 total.

· HOT — INF Kevin Padlo has hit safely in 13 of his last 20 games, including 7 multi-hit contests (8/28-c), batting .337 (28x83) with 21 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs, 20 RBI, 10 walks and 1 stolen base.

6. The Mariners were rated as the most “clutch” team since 1974.

FanGraphs uses the “clutch” metric to measure a team’s performance in high-leverage situations. The 2021 Mariners registered the highest clutch number (9.27) of any team over the last 48 seasons, ranking ahead of the 2016 Texas Rangers (8.20) and 1990 Chicago White Sox (8.10). The Mariners batted .271 as a team with an .828 OPS in “high-leverage” situations in 2021.

· START ME UP — In his first 5 starts with Tacoma (7/20–8/26), RH Ryan Weber went 2–0 with a 1.19 ERA (4 ER, 30.1 IP)…he limited opponents to a .167 (18x108) average, while walking 0 and striking out 30…dating back to the 3rd inning on July 20-through the 4th inning on Aug. 19, Weber tossed 19.1 scoreless innings.

· NO HITS ALLOWED — In 7 games (8/14–9/3), RH Matt Festa has allowed only 1 hit while striking out 15 over 7.1 scoreless innings (1 HB, 0 BB)…he was 2–0 with 1 saves in those games…since Aug. 14, Festa is 4–1 with 1 save and a 2.16 ERA (4 ER, 16.2 IP)…he has limited opponents to a .153 (9x59) average, while walking 1 and striking out 27.

9. The Mariners young players improved as the season went on.

22-year-old Jarred Kelenic had an excellent month of September/October, recording 6 doubles, 7 home runs, 20 RBI and an .854 OPS. 24-year-old Logan Gilbert posted a 2.70 ERA over his last 6 starts, with the Mariners going 5–1 in those games. 25-year-old Luis Torrens batted .333 (25x75) over his last 25 games of the season.
