ESPN is a joke and clearly East coast bias but they do consider remaining opponents records. If the M's were to end the season against the Rangers, I'd say the chance is equal with the Red Sox ending against the Nats.

No one said Jerry doesn’t know what he is doing, I think most negative people on it hate the way he is doing it and he is a condescending asshole. Servais still needs to be fired, we all love them to be in the playoffs but the reason they do not have a playoff spot locked up right now is his handling of the pitching staff. He is a bench coach not a manager. I don’t think one single person argued that Julio needed to be traded.

No one ever said ownership doesn’t want acquire talent, it has always been they won’t raise the budget or acquire high priced talent.

You were probably not in the conversation but there was definitely a back in forth on these boards I had with someone that said we should trade Julio Rodriguez for an "all star" like Trea Turner and that management doesn't know what they are doing. It is almost iconic what this team is doing to make the playoffs tied with a team on a mega payroll, the yankees, red sox, and blue jays have monster talents on their teams and we are right there in the mix with them I think Servais and Jerry deserved every bit of their extensions and if we made the playoffs I think they deserve an award. Honestly going into the season with our best players being Kikuchi and Kyle Lewis and if you were to tell me Kyle Lewis would have a season ending injury along with Evan White we would all have thought we would be battling for last place so insinuating that under those circumstances the expectation that we should have won more games and battling for 1st with the Astros and their loaded roster is crazy to me.
