It is so much easier playing the underdog role vs holding your own fate in your hands. It looked like the moment was just a bit too big for the boys tonight. Oh well. It is just too bad they outlawed the bunt in baseball...

Dead on. And after he K'd, I wanted Murphy to do the same because I knew there was 0 chance he was making contact. That Angels reliever was smirking his ass off after each strikeout.Yeah, when Torrens was on third and they shifted for Kelenic, my thought was that it was a good time for him to bunt down the line.
It wasn’t just Kelenic though. Throughout Toro’s AB Simms made sure those of us who were listening to it that the Angels were giving up the free run.Yeah, when Torrens was on third and they shifted for Kelenic, my thought was that it was a good time for him to bunt down the line.
I kind've felt for Kelenic on his strikeout - he wanted it too much and knew the second he swung that he screwed up. Live broadcast picked up like 5 f-bombs.
Just gotta remember to try and hang on to that early lead. We can't afford to choke it quickly like Gonzales did tonight.Statistically we're not dead yet.....close though.
Agreed, but Marco is no Ace like Randy or Felix. There was no way we were winning 1-0.Just gotta remember to try and hang on to that early lead. We can't afford to choke it quickly like Gonzales did tonight.

Here is my other head scratcher of the game. RH'ers hit Suarez at .206. LH'ers hit .314. So why wasn't Fraley or Bauer in LF instead of Moore? Both are better bats and both are better fielders. Maybe one of them actually make the catch on the ball that we gave up both runs on.
I can’t say obviously because I didn’t see the defensive lineup. Just the way Simms portrayed it, it would’ve been a lot easier for Toro than Kelenic. Maybe he saw it wrong or I misunderstood himI'm not sure I agree with the Toro AB being a give up on the run. Yes they shifted, but the tv broadcast showed that the infield was in. They were playing for the throw home on a ground ball. It wasn't until Toro walked that they moved back into DP depth while still shifted. A bunt may have worked because of the shift, but the Mayfield may have still had a play at the plate in the scenario - He played much further off the line and deeper against Kelenic.
Unfortunately, we had 4 chances to put the ball in play after the triple - and no one could do it.
