Oh I get it. I’m just sure there are gonna be people who will blast Castillo based on one game but those same people won’t be happy with Toros initial performance because “it’s too soon”. It’s gonna be that way until things turn around here for the better
Sadly I have tried so hard not saying that with Toro when the whole 4 homers in 4 games slogan was trending in Mariners world.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know or remember if Jerry Dipoto was responsible for drafting and/or signing Mike Trout to the Angels franchise when JD was with the Angels organization b4 coming to Seattle? I just don't remember how all that played out back then.

Dipoto was with the Diamondbacks when Trout was drafted.

Trust me, when it comes to drafting and developing players, we would never hear the end of how Jerry Dipoto's genius led him to selecting Trout at the end of the first round lol.

His legacy with the Angels will be signing an (allegedly) 32 year old Albert Pujols to a 10 year $240m contract. The reason I say allegedly 32 years old, is because I've read it's pretty well known among baseball insiders that Pujols is actually older than he is listed.

It's looking like Marco has hopefully returned to form.

In his last 4 starts (including today) he has a 3.26 ERA. I'm cherry picking a bit here because that doesn't include July 3rd's start where he gave up 7 ER in 3.1 innings.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Both my neighbor and I were wondering and both of us were too damn lazy to look it up. lol

When I saw your post I was initially thinking that there was no way he had anything to do with Trout. If he had drafted Trout, I'm sure we'd be reminded of it consistently lol.

Didn't do shit at the trade deadline and now are falling apart.

This is Mariners Baseball. True to the blue.

Looks like we found the next average MLB player who will murder us every year.

What a sucky ending. Heim gives a walk off. Why the hell didn't Servais just put him on base? The dude has hammered all series and you pitch to him? Rangers take the series??

It's true what someone said after the trades: they just simply DO NOT CARE ABOUT WINNING.

Thanks for quitting, Swanson. Now STAY THE HELL OFF THE MOUND.

Wish someone during post game with Servais would have asked him about not pitching to Heim and putting him on. The guy was a game winning threat and Scott just watched him hit the walk off. As far as I'm concerned the manager lost this game by missing an obvious call. Damn!!

That is an issue that isn’t ever brought up when people are either kissing Jerry’s ass or crucifying him. You can have a great rebuild all planned out but if the manager sucks it won’t matter. And exhibit A of why you don’t tie a manager/coach with a GM.

Every AL West team tends to have a catcher that owns us. It must be a rule

My biggest issue with how things panned out is Anthony Misch pitched the 8th and didn’t face a lefty while the guy leading off the 9th was a lefty. Why not let him face one more batter to give yourself a better matchup? Maybe with the way Swanson pitched they lose anyway which leads to my next question why Swanson over Steckenrider whose closed a couple of games.
Regardless they needed to score more the last couple of games. Relying on the bullpen to bail you out has worked for 4 months but it’s not sustainable if you aspire to do more
