How do you let Montero give up so many runs in the 9th while sitting on your hands?

After todays debacle, I am sure Gilbert is just chomping at the bit to take the bump in tomorrows game.

I have always wandered how a pro baseball player gets a case of the yips and cannot make a simple 50 foot throw to a base or home plate.

The Yips: Chuck Knoblauch — A Foot In The Box

Poor ole Chuck Knoblach had it worse than anyone I think

Edited to add

Won't the Mariners be surprised when the summer attendance is more aligned to Covid restricted fans numbers than the expanded seating policy they just instituted.

It’s nuts Servais has such a quick hook except in spots when it actually matters. 6 seasons of this same stuff and still no one bothers to question his job status

I’m so tired of taking guys no other team wants and thinking we are smart enough to fix them. How this organization thought enough of Montero for him to be their go to reliever is crazy. Invest in actual fucking talent instead of all these buy low dudes that never work.

It's the Mariner way.

They always yearn to polish up everyone elses turds and laugh all the way to the bank. As long as 36,000 fans show up to The moose jock strap giveaway game, they could care less.

Right. I’m not even mad at them honestly. More mad at myself for trying to care. They are losers by choice

More sabotage, I see.

Go figure. Can't hold a four-run lead, what good are you?

Just when you thought there weren't many more ways to quit, these guys find another way.

GET SWEPT!

IF S__t F_r B----s Servais would have pulled Montero, like any other MLB manager would have, the game just might not have gone into xtra frames. Dipoto can't be that stupid not to see how "out to lunch" his side kick Servais is managing this shit show. If Dip doesn't see it, Stanton, (who claims to be a hard core baseball lover) can't be that oblivious to it......can he? :noidea:

See all you idiots out there blaming the loss on Servais probably didn't understand that they had it all lined up the way they wanted it and Montero just didn't execute. Blame Servais how dare you.

Basically that’s the take everyone at 710 will have. Can’t ever be Servais’ fault

If a guy doesn’t execute a job he isn’t good at, isn’t by definition that your fault for putting him in that position?

By the way. “We didn’t stay after it” gave me McClaren flashbacks

They actually do remind me of one another. Both soft spoken, probably nice guys, good baseball men, but neither should lead a team.

Msfann- Just to clarify, I was being a smartass towards Servais on this and wasn't calling you out. You were dead on and Servais probably should stop talking.

It just leads me to wonder more about what their REAL plan is for the team. If Stanton is that oblivious that Dipoto and Servais are slacking, rather than trying to get these guys to perform more, what's he got in mind?

Who else has been looking for a team other than Vegas and Portland? I wouldn't be surprised at this point.
