Didn’t watch the whole game but Rivas hit wasn’t close to CTZ.Exactly. Which is why this can only work if Jerry is willing to let go of that and allow Danny to use more conventional approaches to the offense.
It will improve if he does and be exactly the same if he doesn't.
I think it likely they dump that crap.
I think Wilson and Martinez both could have had jobs in the clubhouse any time they wanted in the last 15 years so I doubt if they took the jobs on anything less than their terms. I don't think Wilson would have agreed to manage the team if Dipoto had put those types of restrictions on him. I don't think Edgar would have agreed to be the hitting coach if the hitters were going to continue to be subjected to that type of approach at the plate.Exactly. good thought...but mariners..This is a random thought, but: the Seattle area never got its typical July-August weather this year. Instead we are getting October weather. The Mariners have also seemingly run into opponent team aces, and #2s in every recent series we've played in. Have these situations, at least in part, plagued the Mariner bats from heating up? I mean, I realize the offense was built to suck under the best of conditions, but these situations aren't helping anything. T-Mobile having a Marine layer effect for the entire season, rather than typically just the first 45 games, doesn't help.
yeah.i was..ready to.give.up.I think Wilson and Martinez both could have had jobs in the clubhouse any time they wanted in the last 15 years so I doubt if they took the jobs on anything less than their terms. Good win tonight. Nice to see them win with timely place hitting rather than trying to power the ball over the fence. Enumclaw gets the game on channel 687. The channel lost its feed to the game at the top of the 6th inning and I abandoned the game rather than wait for it to come back. It was 5-1 and I figured they were done. Typical Mariners.
Pretty annoyed with myself for not figuring out how to make the right bet for "M's won't make the playoffs" on fanduel while I was in AZ in early June. They didn't have that specific bet, so I would have needed to bet on both Tex and Hou to win the division and the payouts weren't all that good for winning one of those and losing the other.June 18th: Mariners had a 92% chance of making the playoffs
August 22nd: Mariners have a 11% chance of making the playoffs.
There were 39 players last year with 90 or more RBI's. We had 3 of them. We ridded ourselves of 2 of them and the 3rd looks like a ghost of his former self. I don't know why common fans question why we can't hit. We dumped guys that could hit here for guys that couldn't hit elsewhere. All because $$$ and Dipot's excuse of wanting to cut down K's. That is so BS. Julio was 8th in K's and Cal was 25th. They didn't get rid of them. Just the guys with the bigger contracts that didn't make fans feel warm and fuzzy.Eugenio Suarez stats since July 1st:
46 games
34 runs
13 homeruns
42 RBI
.296/.357/.609/.963
Season totals
19 homeruns
74 RBI
T-Mobile isn't quite the offensive jaggernaut that Chase Field is but I'm pretty sure he'd be making a bigger contribution than Carlos Vargas and Seby Zuvales, and would have more RBI than incumbent third baseman Josh Rojas.
I'm ok .with .2 strike out guys and even. There were 39 players last year with 90 or more RBI's. We had 3 of them. We ridded ourselves of 2 of them and the 3rd looks like a ghost of his former self.
