With a 3rd String QB

Seems like a tough 6 week stretch.

Why would you count the playoff games? Doesn't make much sense to me. That has no barring on the assessment of a team, or their schedule. Going into it, nobody knew who was going to win it.

Alabama's 2014 SOS = 22
Ohio State's 2014 SOS = 47

Also Alabama, in the final 6 weeks, played a team that finished the season ranked in the top 25, 2 top 20, and a top 10 team.

Ohio State played on top 20 team, and a one top 10 team.

Who exactly had the harder last 6 weeks again?
Bama played teams that were over ranked and it was shown in the bowls. Those rankings mean shit.

Bowl season proved the SEC rankings love fest was a fraud.

Okay, so if you say the rankings mean shit, this is who each team played in the final 6 weeks:

Ohio State - Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin
Alabama - Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State, FCS, Auburn, Missouri

Add it up and Bama's is still harder.

Strength of schedule isn't based on rankings.

They had LSU and Auburn which were tough and a rest game in the middle to make up for the harder LSU game.

Right and they have already determined a SoS for team this season, how?

Yes, the SEC did poorly in bowl season, even taking that into account this is where the teams finished(according to one of the BCS computers)

Ohio State played: Illinois(62), Michigan State(7), Minnesota(32), Indiana(86), Michigan(63) and Wisconsin(17)
Alabama played: Tennessee(37), LSU(28), Mississippi State(16), FCS(NR), Auburn(22), Missouri(11)

Bama's schedule was harder and this was with counting bowl losses by LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn.

Right and they have already determined a SoS for team this season, how?

The better SoS formulas use advanced stats similar to FEI.

I'm not defending Gus with these comments, as I think that's a lame excuse(there's literally a month to prepare). But anybody that says Ohio State played a harder schedule or had a tougher last 6 weeks than Bama or any SEC West team really, I'm going to disagree with. The numbers just don't back that up whatsoever.

Right but when teams have not played and nobody knows what is going to happen or what they will do the SoS means nothing. Their formula are all guesses.
The rankings we have seen are BS, the SoS is mostly BS until teams actually play each other. I can say preseason tOSU and that adds to others SoS but if they lose 3 games then maybe I was wrong.

ESPN just released their updated top 25 poll. The top 14 teams in the country are all in the SEC. And the rest of the top 25 just doesn't matter!

Alabama played a tougher schedule. Ohio State beat them fair and square, Gus' excuse was lame given the month to prepare.

It isn't hard giving credit to Ohio State when it's due, and in this case it is. It's also not hard to see Bama played a tougher schedule and a tougher schedule down the stretch.

So basically, you don't have a fucking clue what SoS is or how it's calculated and just want to say it's bullshit because it doesn't favor Ohio St in this argument.

You were talking about last year, so they've already played.

Their formula are all guesses.

No they aren't. Far from it.

The rankings we have seen are BS, the SoS is mostly BS until teams actually play each other.

The SoS formulas update every week. Not sure why you seem to think they are calculated in the preseason and never change.

I can say preseason tOSU and that adds to others SoS but if they lose 3 games then maybe I was wrong.

Which is why they update every single week as new data happens.

So Bama gets credit for the tough SoS when the teams they played showed they were over ranked?

End of season the SEC was over ranked, it was shown on the field. It is that simple.

Sorry, the SEC west was.

Anybody that pays attention knows that there is very little real difference in a #20 SOS and a #40 SOS.
As much as people would like you to think there is, there just isn't most of the time.
