Another guy that can catch. The Jays will have a great group of catchers. I guess is makes sense, though. Varsho is a really good outfielder.

I can't imagine he'll see too much action behind the plate, probably more as a 3rd C behind Kirk/Jansen. But if he does, it allows them to let Kirk DH more often.

D-Backs had a lot of LH hitting outfielders.

I had him on one of my fantasy teams last year and left him in the line up because he qualified as a catcher.

I ended up dropping him, but only for Rutschman. My other catcher was Will Smith.

1. The Red Sox have rotation depth?
2. I have a hard time believing there's actual interest in a Chris Sale that's thrown 48.1 innings the last three years.
3. I have a hard time believing the Sox can get a decent return unless they eat most of it.
4. And if they're trying to get someone to take Sale's contract on, they're probably going to have to give up some prospects.

It's a risk but it's only 2 years at most (assuming it's a player option). Overall I like the Giants strategy of signing guys for shorter contracts. They got some guys with really solid potential that they are only committed to for 2-3 seasons. Stripling, Manaea, Conforto, Haniger all seem like good pickups to me. The way they keep expanding the playoffs it seems like the strategy should be to try to reach the postseason as often as possible to increase your chances of getting to the World Series instead of trying to lock up a bunch of superstars and end up having to rebuild when those contracts get near the end.

I agree.

While not flashy it’s a solid offseason that won’t handcuff the team for very long if they’re good.

The stripling deal is my favorite though

He’s the David price on the devers trade

wow. Varsho's a nice player, but I think that's a great return for Arizona.

Love the ari return, did what they had to do.

Turned to a strength to fill a hole

They Can even flip LG…and they probably should

Tor this makes sense and I think varsho gets some extra late innings c work when it’s time to run for the starter and Kirk is DHing.

It lets them use Kirk at dh a lot more, really let’s them optimize their lineup

it would make sense, but they're pretty lacking in RH hitting outfielders on the 40 man (the only other one is Kyle Lewis and he's damaged goods).
