Fair point. The Padres will have gotten the best of his prime and have avoided the back end where his play could diminish over time.I'm good with the Harper deal but I don't know if the Machado deal was that bad for the Padres. They got his best years and if he's planning to leave after this season he has lots of incentive to have a great season this year. But I'm thinking if he does have a good enough season and opts out of the contract and some other team gives him More than 32 Mil. and More years, then That team is most likely going to be disappointed.
