If nattys don't matter does that mean @MAIZEandBLUE09 thinks Michigan should return their rings for ducking Nebraska in 1997 :noidea:

No that's different. Just like Sark losing his job due to alcohol is somehow different from when Gary Moeller lost his job in ann arbor because of alcohol. See how that works? Because I don't.

But Ozzy Osbourne and his number 1 ranked huskers offense would have bit the heads off of the wolverines in 97

Kind of like the team with the NCAA record for the worst loss after losing as a 41 point favorite? Hmmmm. What team could that be? Can't blame USC. They got out coached.
I got you a ring to commemorate Michigans loss to Utah :laugh3:

That being said -- Harbaugh was only on the job for a couple weeks when the Weber signing happened. If OSU comes in and signs Donovan Peoples-Jones -- it'd be comparable to the Leonard Taylor committment. I like UM's chances going forward in recruiting battles though, as Harbaugh has had a chance to build relationships with coaches and kids. Being in the NFL has advantages, but a disadvantage is not having the type of relationships with players other coaches have built for years.

Michael Jordan? He lived his entire life in Ohio until his dad got moved when he was in high school. I see you really pay attention to your recruits.

And Mike Weber, while he was a good get -- wasn't a top 25 recruit in the country, nor a 5 star recruit. And as Weber himself said, "Boy, if I could do it all over again"

That being said -- it tells you the level of recruits in Ohio. Taylor is ranked 22nd nationally, but 3rd in the state of Ohio for 2018.
You should hope that Michigan coaches paid more attention to their recruits. Like know how to spell their names and whether they showed up to a camp or not.

There is absolutely no excuse for that and I have no issue with the kid backing off his commitment. I hope whoever was responsible for sending out these recruiting letters is fired.

You get one of the top DL recruits in SEC country to commit and that is how you treat him? :L

I'm not overly concerned about Taylor. His stock has been dropping considerably. He was a 5 star top 20 recruit when he committed as a DE, and they now have him around 140th and listed as a TE.

Hell -- with the way OSU has been recruiting -- he may not even have a scholarship for him by the time he is a senior.

I have no idea why they're doing that. I don't believe OSU would be recruiting him as a TE.

I was at the game. Down in the Orange Bowl. I was only 14, and that loss crushed me. Shaun Alexander was the best player on the field that night.

However, you guys did have Tom Brady, but he wasn't anything special back then.

Who would have known...scum did have one important win in the history of their program, but it still wasn't a national championship win lol

I'm not sure. Something is up? I haven't really followed much, but when I read the article about him -- it listed him as the 140th recruit, so I looked it up.

He went from a 5 star top 20 recruit in April and dropped like a brick over the summer. My guess is -- he didn't fair well in any of the camps at DE, but did well as a TE, so they listed as a TE. That is just a guess though.

Either way -- it sucks losing him, as UM needs to get secure some big recruits from Ohio to try and get other on board.
