Nor do I, so what's your point?

The point is that you are using one random poll that supports your view and ignoring everything else. Your opinion is not majority.

Agree. The Spurs aren't better, but they are currently the only threat. They are just good enough that with Pop coaching them, they could throw the Warriors off of their game enough to win the series.

Don't get me wrong, I don't see that happening...but if there is one team that could do it, it's the Spurs.
Threat definitely needs to be used loosely here. There is always going to be a second best in any scenario, right now the Spurs are it, but nothing about that roster screams threat to me.

Who cares about polls anyway? Why should what someone else thinks color your own opinion?

I personally think Lebron's only advantage over Kobe is his size and passing, whereas Kobe has him in handle, shooting, slashing, defense, and drive. Even there, Kobe was continuously among the top assist guys at SG, despite his chucker reputation.

Granted stats don't mean everything, but they disagree with virtually everything you said in the second paragraph.

What stats are you using for drive, handle, and defense?

Kobe was top 5 in just about any season in assists for a SG. Kobe's shooting percentages suffer in comparison to Lebron's in that he couldn't just bully his way to the hoop. 3 pt shooting is almost dead even, 1.4/4.0 to 1.4/4.1 in Lebron's favor, but context explains that as well. Judging by what I have seen, Kobe was forced into bad shots late in the clock by his teammates much more often than Lebron (and also his shot selection forced him into many as well). Lebron is more apt to pass that shot off to a teammate and put him up against the clock.

I don't care about polls. That is kind of my point.

@Shaqdaddy11 is using one random ESPN poll to "prove" her opinion that most people believe Kobe is better than LeBron. Despite the fact that there are many other polls, lists, etc. that say exactly the opposite.

No poll is going to change my opinion. I have seen both of them play for their entire career and I don't think it is particularly close. LeBron is the more impactful player.

More impactful doesn't necessarily mean more skilled though. I don't necessarily agree that he's more impactful either, unless we're talking about media, hype, and throwing his weight around to be player/GM/coach.

Besides, we're splitting hairs between these two anyway. They'll be very close in all-time rankings (for whatever those are truly worth), and probably within a slot or two of each other.

Actually, she's using one random poll to prove something that she doesn't even agree with herself. She says she has LeBron ranked ahead of Kobe.

To be honest, that is the single biggest reason why LeBron is better. Shot selection.

LeBron is more efficient because he doesn't force. He is able to create easier shots for himself because he is bigger and stronger. He is the better teammate again, because he doesn't force shots. He makes the correct basketball play every time.

While Kobe may have willed his team to a few wins that leBron wouldn't have gotten, he also shot his team out of wins that leBron wouldn't have.

People talk about LeBron's biggest blemish being the 2010 Finals against the Mavericks. I agree. But how do you explain Kobe's 34 win 2005 campaign with Odom and Butler on the team? LeBron takes that crew to the second round of the playoffs.

I think this opinion -- that Kobe and LeBron are close and will end up within a slot or two of each other -- is mostly held by Lakers fans. LeBron passed Kobe a few years ago and hasn't looked back.

Lebron is more efficient just because hes bigger. Doesn't make him the better player though. Shaq was more efficient than Kobe too? Guess its easier when youre 100-150 pounds heavier and can run through opponents like Lebron/Shaq did. Lowering shoulder, bullrushes, are gonna give you ALOT of "efficiency stats"

Kobe had to rely more on style, grace, tougher offense , will his team to winning etc.

LBJ's ability to get to the hoop is a skill, using one's body is a skill. LeBron was better at it. Doesn't matter if you use strength or quickness, so don't use the word bully like he's cheating or something.

And yes, LeBron shoots better from 3, if you can use chucking from Kobe as an excuse, then I'll use shot selection as an explanation the way @tlance did.

The fact we're discussing this for the 6000th time means this race is a lot closer than you think.

Shaq's career true shooting percentage is 58.6%. LeBron's is 58.4%. Virtually identical.

Shaq was a center who never shot from further than 8 feet. LeBron and Kobe are both wing players. Another remarkably bad post by you. The only thing that LeBron and Shaq have in common is that their size/athletic advantage over people guarding them allow them to be all time great players.

Implying that LeBron wouldn't be so great if he weren't such an imposing physical specimen isn't exactly a news flash. He is though. If skill is all you care about, then Steph Curry and Steve Nash should be 1 and 2 in your GOAT list.
