Every time theres a qb topic,I`m gonna share my opinion.Which so happens to be the same one all the time.I`m not changing it until he gives me a reason to change it.

hope he gets hurt?
Hell no! i wanna see us win the SB.

And to ridiculed by other?

i`ll let you in on a little secret..........I do not give a flying fuck what anyone on here has to say.i don`t need to put anyone on an ignore list.i don`t need to call anyone names.i don`t need to make any excuses for me railing someone cause i was drunk or whatever.
Not everyone has the same thoughts on this team............

So-called?

if you only seen my basement bar thats called 34`s sports casino.............
I don't question your fan-ness? If that's a word. There is nothing wrong with questioning your team and not blindly following. I too still have doubt on many players and coaches. I am still a super fan and always will be. Wood I love your posting as I find it brutally honest. Keep up the good work.

Not that I really want to go down this road...oh...well let's take a small walk anyway- hey it's the off season.

Noon: Please let me know what you would have done instead?
How much do you think he would have taken- if you think he was over paid- how much instead?
I'm sure this was discussed ad nauseam at the time- but it's really just a 3 year deal.

Who would the Bears have gotten instead?

I'm excited for what Jay can do in this offense in a second year under Trestman- and remember too that Jeffery didn't really break out until Jay was injured. It really could be something special.
GO Bears!
I also am excited to see what Jay can do now that he has a real system and a second year in it, but I also think we overpaid, and we had little other options at the time. His past work did not add up to his current pay, but he can still earn that now. He has everything he needs now. I think any halfway decent QB could run this system and excel with all the weapons we now have (see McNown). OK kill me but I'm gonna say it anyway. I would have drafted Johny football and dropped Cutler.

JFF will be a bust. That's if he's not busted for coke first.

I honestly don't get it.

Why is everyone acting like this contract is something it isn't.

There's about to be a wave of multiple young QB's who will sign for bigger contracts than that. Making him paid right about where he belongs amongst QB's.

This is what you pay for a QB nowadays. Sorry.

I don't like Jay Cutler. Never have, doubt I ever will. But I'd take him over Manziel 1000 times.

Exactly. Additionally, it doesnt come down to what a team wants spend...it comes down to what will be required to keep him. Im very glad they got that deal done quickly-kudos to Emery. Cutler would have fielded plenty of interest from other teams, and IMO would have been able to "shop around" had he chosen to explore all options.

Why pretend Jay is elite and pay him as such? Would any other team have done so? Sorry but anyone pretending this was a fair price is kidding themselves. We OVER paid. Sure it may work out but that does not change the fact we paid for elite talent and have not gotten it.

I would take any young QB over Jay and use that money elsewhere. With all this talent on the offense any decent QB would look good. See what McCown did last year??

McCown played good ball against shitty teams and still came out with a losing record? Wtf noon. His TD to INT ratio was skewed as he got incredibly lucky on about six "should-be" INTs and we still LOST half his games against terrible fucking teams!?

After 25 years, and the fucking Dead Sea Scrolls list of shitty QBs, how any Bears fan cannot think this kid is BY FAR the best QB we've had in a lifetime is beyond me. Does he throw some picks? Sure. Has he been set up to fail all but ONE FUCKING season of being here? An overwhelming YES.

When McCown looks like the average journeyman that he is this year, under Lovie's shitty offensive system, will you still act like he's great? It was a right place, right time thing, and really completely inflated and overrated.

I for one, am not ready to hand the keys back over to Kordell Stewart, or Caleb fucking Hanie.

The Bears did neither.

Would any other team have done so?

3 years for 54 mil on the open market as the top FA QB at only 30 years old? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Sorry but anyone pretending this was a fair price is kidding themselves. We OVER paid.

No… we didn't. It's not rocket science. After this wave of young QB's get their new contracts, Cutler's contract will be somewhere around 5th-10th in the league amongst QB's. If you think that's elite… YOUR kidding yourself.

Sure it may work out but that does not change the fact we paid for elite talent and have not gotten it.

QB's prices have steadily gone up for YEARS. Your comparing this deal to what other QB's got on the open market YEARS ago. It's about what other elite QB's and the young up-and-coming QB's would have gotten on the open market THIS PAST OFF-SEASON, and what they will get over the next couple of years while he's under contract.

Exactly… these dopes. I swear.

Finally, the pieces are in place on offense, and people want to go back to square fucking one. It's unreal. It seriously is. Laughable… really. Sad…

Yeah… let's go back to cycling journeymen QB's in-and-out of this city. Sounds wonderful.

No… you're right, Noon. You are.

The Bears neglected spending money on the QB position for years. That worked out great! Didn't you just love those offenses in the 90's and 00's?

No offense here. We go back as posters together on ESPN to the mid-late 2000's…

… But are you even reading what you're saying?

Wow. Richig07... I couldn't have said any of those last 3 post better! Awesome! Completely agree.

I have never understood the: "get someone else" mantra that has gone on for the past few years. When that's all we've seen at the QB position for almost 20 years.

We actually agree on something.
