Ugh and Lloyd just referred to Hughes as a "buzzsaw." A guy who had an ERA over 8 his previous 3 starts. Lloyd and I must have not been watching the same game.

LMC: "His fastball command was exceptional":L

They have scored 5 runs in the last 50 innings after sweeping the Astros.

Buhner said something similar after the game "you have to tip your cap... blah blah blah" I saw a pitcher throwing 90-93 mph pretty much down the middle and we couldn't catch up to it.

I would take Chris Carter and his .190 average right now. At least he hits homers (17) when he hits. He is strong enough to get them out of Safeco.

I said the same thing from the 1st on when Saunders and Seager watched 3rd strikes. His fastball was average with no movement and was splitting the plate time after time. Batting practice netted 0 runs.

All against mediocre pitching besides sale. 2 combined runs off Quintana, Noesi, Correia and Hughes.

More LMC: "It's all about winning and losing. We won a game yesterday and nobody talked about the offense."

Umm yes we did Lloyd. We most certainly did

I saw a graph of where all of Nelson cruz' homeruns landed, super-imposed over a graph of safeco field. Every homer would have gone out of Safeco except one, which would have hit off of the outfield wall. Being able to power the ball the same distance through heavier air is a different matter.

The offense is asleep right now. They'll bust out eventually. We seen this a few times before this year. These guys have been on a pace to score between 630-680 runs this year. It hasn't gone lower than 630 nor higher than 680 for several weeks now. They are what they are. Help is probably not coming.

Turned it off at 5-0. Worried about A's as the shitty Twins kick our asses.

So are there still people questioning why we are looking at pitching? Rookies are as reliable as a meth head babysitters.

This team is fucking brutal right now!! Yes, a game like this shows that we are still in need of pitching. A game like last night shows that we are in need of a bat, but ultimately we are a couple of guys away from being true contenders. A lot of ball to go, but if this management stands pat we are screwed!

Bumping Felix back a day looking bad now. Staring down losing 3 out of 4 with a tired bullpen going into the A's series.

Only the Mariners would break their drought with RISP and not score a run off it

Well 20 hits the last two nights but only 1 run to show for it. I suppose the luck is evening out for the offense. For a while runs were being scored despite being last in the AL in AVG and OBP
