This is the real...thing..ok..mariners..have.
Shown .need..to.trade..
2 bats.down...

And here is the real thing..until.mariners.could eval..from spring.
As every other club is as well..
Jedi did not know where..to go..cuz it was not here ..
Yet..
Know..he does..
And know.trades.for younger.guys.hopefully.
(To stay..within..his 6 year..plan..
As opposed to .free agents)

Then draft. Is.next..

On money, yes. But no owner tells the GM/President what players to trade for and Dips record for trading for bats is worse than a Mariners hitter's.

From what I have heard in the past is because it is a tight committee in Seattle media and they don't want to get the cold shoulder from management/ownership. They have to play nice.
Dispite.the media
The owner is the owner..working hand in hand
With ..Jedi .to accomplish..the goles..
The way..free agents..went..this is the best
Choice..overall..if they get the right..
Players..
And I'm not saying I have chosen..the.right ones..
They are just.ones I could see on the mariners..
For various reasons..
But even the mariners..have..said..they.
Will trade..

and it's time

I went back and watched innings 2-7 that I missed earlier.

TX line up is stacked with some serious offensive punch top to bottom. They were flat out pissin' on the ball all day today and all weekend outside Costillo start ( 2-0 win for TX )

I am just shocked and saddened by how bad our team is. What a gut punch / slap in the face. We flat out suck.

Completely embarassed by a team that came really close to LOSING 100 games just last season, and they DID lose 100+ the season before that. The next previous season was COVID 19 shortened.

They added real baseball players in the offseason. While we were scrounging around in the bargain bin looking for who's on sale.

Not on this team. Not on any team that can only hit when their pitchers have GIVEN UP.
And that's what we ended up doing the whole damn series!

Wake me when Servais is finally gone.

I guess if we were going to trade for a bat maybe a guy that led the A.L in hitting last year would have been a nice get for us this past offseason. I still hate using trades as out number one option to obtain bats. Add to the fact we suck on trading for them doesn't help.

The guy we should have sold out for. I said it after game 2 of the season last year. He was the guy we needed.

Why? It doesn't make sense to me.

I even have a friend who is very casual, has a family, keeps sending me various screenshots of where we were this time last year who is trying to convince me there is a chance.

Okay, even if there is a chance, we just got demolished by two teams we'd be playing in the playoffs.

I know we might disagree on this a bit, but I blame ownership more than I blame Dipoto. I don't think he would've traded for Teoscar or Wong if the team had actually given him money to spend in free agency. My biggest gripe with Dipoto is more that he makes excuses on behalf of ownership.
Your last part I do have a very, very bad excuse for ownership. If all of the reports were true, they opened up the checkbook quite a bit for White but Gilbert, Kelenic, Lewis and I can’t remember the other one that turned it down. So going from league minimum to $4 million a year or whatever the math turns out does say they don’t mind spending. But this is also where I was skeptical of the reporting Wong wanted one extra year but ownership wouldn’t give it to them. It doesn’t add up to me that they wouldn’t for Wong but were given the green light for dudes who hadn’t played a big league game yet.

Ok..do you see..Wong .as part.of the mariners future...
Or a place holder
.till they find.the next..guy...
And they need to ..act quickly..at this point..
To find one..

Maybe.that.is.why..they.did not offer..
Wong extra..

It's about.core..guys..and arbitration..
Even that .flexen.is..8 mil..
Going year.by year..not..a good idea..
If a pitcher..has a good..year..
Arb.mcould Kik to 10..mil..
Hard to say..
But agents..are as on that stuff.as Jedi is.
They know..

Great recap by Shannon, on why the offense is struggling... Nice to see her start to all a spade a spade...

“The biggest problem is the offense,” she told hosts Brock Huard and Mike Salk. “They have failed to get traction of any sort. You’ve had individual struggles, you’ve had hitting philosophy struggles, you have had complete lineup and hitting together as a team struggles. The acquisitions that were brought in are not helping the situation at all. You’ve got to score runs to win ballgames and the pitching has given you every opportunity to win ballgames, and it’s been the offensive side that has come up short. It’s plain and simple. You could go into a billion numbers.”

“What you hear is that they are not following the philosophy of ‘dominate the zone.’ That doesn’t mean sit back and try and take walks, that means don’t miss the pitches you can handle and do damage with,” Drayer said. “They’re missing the pitches that they can handle and do damage with, and then they’re getting into a cycle – many of them – of swinging at pitches they have no business swinging at whatsoever. So you’ve got a problem and you’ve got guys that you know have done it before and they’re not getting it done right now. And some of the most absolutely frustrating things to see is sometimes you’ll see hitters that are so lost right now that they’re staring at pitches right down the middle. Individual struggles are having a huge impact on this team, and that of course affects what they can do as a group.”

“There were frustrations with what the offense was doing, and he said, ‘You know, we are far too easy to pitch to right now,’ and I don’t think they’ve taken many steps from that. I think there have been a couple of times when they’ve come out of that a little bit, but on a consistent basis, I think they’re still pretty easy to pitch to. And I think you do see (opposing starting pitchers) come in and all of a sudden you see some usages flipped a little bit. You do start seeing a little bit more sliders and breaking balls than they normally throw, and I think it’s been effective. And if the other teams know how to get you out, you need to know how to make the adjustment, and there has been frustration that you haven’t seen the adjustments.”

Off to a rip roaring start to this road trip. If only the M's could play Oakland 55 more times.

Blowers said this on air early in the year. Was talking Kelenic at the time but you could tell it was about more than just him. Problem is, this is a lack of strategy it is a lack of talent. How in the hell do you make someone hit pitches he is suppose to hit but hasn't? You don't. Suarez's bat looks slow. He is missing BP pitches. The others either miss or take them then chase something horrible. The chase part can be fixed with the right teaching and adjustments, but missing good pitches at this high rate is just lack of talent.

France is a great example. The guy hit .390 in AAA and was off to a .300+ start in the majors with SD and us, but has fallen off a cliff. I don't think we can keep using the injury excuse anymore. Those stats I posted on him earlier from 2021-2023, shows he has a 27% K rate. This is from a guy that is suppose to be a specialist at putting bat on ball because of his lack of power, speed, and defense.

I guess it is just that brain block from marine layer theory I guess...

Those early offers actually aren't spending they are cost savings for ownership. Yes it is a risk like in White's case, but in general ownership saves millions over the next 4 to 5 years on these deals. And even if they player doesn't work out, they only lose a few million which is more than made up for with the lack of big veteran contracts that they don't give out.

It's a numbers game I guess is what I am saying. You don't win on all of them, but the one's you do the savings is monumental. Of course the player gives up money for guarantees, health insurance, and they become part of the pension program.

MLB players are eligible to receive monthly pensions and other benefits if they’ve got at least three years of service.
A “year of service” is not really a full year or season when it is accumulated. Whether he played or not, a player can only be under contract for at least one game in a given season.
A player only needs to be on the roster for 43 days to earn a lifetime pension. One day in MLB will give the player lifetime healthcare coverage. The minimum pension payout is $34000/yr, growing to $100,000/yr after ten years. Teams also contribute to an individual’s own retirement (401K) plan.

710..Joe fan...disagree..
The mariners..should trade for guys..
They know.can help

So mariners..don't get used..to losing again
If they go..20.years..without..playoffs again
They will have.no fans left..
No .they need..a ...word series run..
And then again ..and again..
Trade..2b..at least..left.handed.to..
Give some hope...
Now. Outfield..can hold..till.next.year..
But why..
Not rent a player..and go.playoffs..
20.game..
Run..what is wrong with it..

Dont.trade.ib desperation.even if you are
.and the right peice.is.there...
Do it..

No..no..sir...
Thank you for your advice..
