This is actually good news. It shows wasting prospects on one average MLB bat won't help because we are leaking at every orifice. Our numbers combined over the last 6 games:
Runs scored: 16
Runs allowed: 50
Hits: 42
Hits allowed: 74
Brutal.
LololooYou kidding me? I read how Hernandez was the game changer of the century this offseason...
I really think Chuck is fair. I think he just didn’t grow up here so he doesn’t get the frustration of Mariners fans and he is an optimist. Bucky however, is another story.I'm sure Chuck and Buck will still be telling their audience to relax and this is still early come tomorrow morning's show.
We have so many brain washed media in this market
This is the real...thing..ok..mariners..have.I am just looking at out of sight, out of mind. It may be best for my mental health.
I don’t know man. We have had several gut punches that they have spun into something, but they were throughly destroyed this series and you can’t sell it. I have always said pitching wins in the playoffs but you need an offense to get to the playoffs, well neither showed up against the division leaders.I think you are selling the Mariners PR team short. They can spin just about anything to the Mariner masses.
Why? It doesn't make sense to me.There is still a lot of apologist in the Seattle media...unfortunately.
You know, I wasn't expecting Teoscar to hit like he did in 2020 or 2021. I would've been fine with how he hit in 2022. I know I already mentioned it in the other thread, but it just makes no sense to me how players regress so substantially here. You kidding me? I read how Hernandez was the game changer of the century this offseason...
Yeah I heard both of them talking about that with Miller but Smoltz and Schilling both keep saying quit trying to make a sweeper a thing. Really I don’t understand how you can throw multiple sliders, you got a two seem and 4 seem slider. I guess you can add a different amount of fingers but damn you are begging for surgery if you starting doing that.Weird start to his career for sure. I do think his stuff is really good though.
It was either Dave Sims or Aaron Goldsmith who mentioned he throws a number of different sliders (whatever that means) and has been experimenting with a curve.
I think he's still just figuring it out.
I know this isn't the point you were trying to make, but it made me curious how the elimination of the shift has impacted team batting averages. I don't have the patience to add up all the numbers and calculate what the total impact is, but the median team this year is hitting .249. Last year it was .241. Doesn't seem to have had the impact many were expecting.Mariners Team Batting 2022:
.230
Dipoto- The removal of the shift will make us better hitters.
Mariners Team Batting 2023:
.228
On money, yes. But no owner tells the GM/President what players to trade for and Dips record for trading for bats is worse than a Mariners hitter's.I know we might disagree on this a bit, but I blame ownership more than I blame Dipoto. I don't think he would've traded for Teoscar or Wong if the team had actually given him money to spend in free agency. My biggest gripe with Dipoto is more that he makes excuses on behalf of ownership.
From what I have heard in the past is because it is a tight committee in Seattle media and they don't want to get the cold shoulder from management/ownership. They have to play nice. Why? It doesn't make sense to me.
Eh. He does say things, because he isn't a Mariners fan himself or a fan of his job, but he doesn't just nail them as needed in my opinion. I want a royal roasting. Call out names and point fingers.Mariners’ dreams of winning AL West appear dashed after crushing losses to Rangers
The Mariners were swept by the division-leading Rangers, and were outscored by 21 runs over the three games to fall 9.5 games back in the AL West.www.seattletimes.com
Divish ain't afraid to call it how it is
