Gonna be interesting...maybe they can put together a package or packages that brings them someone like Nic Claxton (no idea if the Nets are interested in moving him), or Myles Turner...or maybe they decide to give Ainge what he wants for Kessler? Would Knecht, removing the 2027 protections and the 2031 be enough?
I just texted my best friend about Claxton....wonder what he would cost.

Pretty sure we just have '31 1st rounder now that we dealt the '29 to Dallas for Luka.

We traded the '27 pick for Russ.

Calling somebody a cancer is a wild accusation over 1 thing.

The point was specifically that Davis was considered a cancer at the time the Lakers traded for him. Not for his whole career, at that specific time.

And he unquestionably was, which is why New Orleans sent him away from the team.

Not entirely true...on the surface...it looked like the Lakers fleeced Memphis. But included in that trade was the rights to Marc Gasol...I heard he was pretty good.

Yes, in retrospect.

But the sentiment at the time was they had gotten Pau for nothing. And my boss was a Lakers fan.

It's not remotely true, and it never was.

Memphis got 2 first-round picks, plus a player who was a mid-first-round pick that very year, the rights to a player who should have been a lottery pick, and 2 veterans of limited value.

That's a very acceptable package for a 27 year-old big who had already played his best seasons ( although he got a lot more public attention in Los Angeles than he did in Memphis ).

People on here just throwing out BS.....LOL.

James and Reaves are 4th and 18th in the League in assists per game. That is exactly what the previous poster described -- sharing the load of running the offense successfully.

I'm beginning to wonder if you've ever seen a Laker game, at least while sober.

Lively is 7-1 but you didn't list him in your original comment when you said the Mavs would start 3 PF's.....sure there was a reason for that.

Yes, there is -- because Davis and Gafford are better, and you specifically mentioned Washington. That's 3, since I'm no longer assuming that you can even count.

Read your own comments before embarrassing yourself. Reading others' might help, too.

That's why you have to wait to evaluate a trade and not have a knee jerk reaction like people are with AD for Luka....basically.

I said Gafford/Lively at C.

You might want to try reading more.

True, and truth to tell...if Marc Gasol hadn't decided to come to the NBA...it would have been among the most lopsided trades in history.

That's two players, and one position. You also said Irving, Thompson, and Washington were going to start. So, what, you're going to bring Davis off the bench?

Your comments are ridiculously stupid, so I am going to stop wasting my time by replying to you until you do much, much better.

Why did New Orleans send Davis away from the team in the final month of the season?

We're done here since he doesn't understand the concept of platooning players at the C position.

LOL.

I think the trade in 1975 that brought Kareem to the Lakers was bigger. (Maybe not have been in season trade)
As my friend said earlier when we were texting....this one was probably the most surprising, but not the biggest trade of all time.

That is true, but I don't think the Mavs believe the trade makes them a contender. Their odds to win the title went down immediately.

I think either Luka wanted out and/or they assessed the situation and said ... last year is the best it will get, we're too hamstung to get him help, so let's blow it up and see what we got when the smoke clears in a few years
