Kareem was traded for four Milwaukee players. He was traded in June. So, it may have been off season by then.

I still see the trade for Kareem as much bigger than Luka trade. Kareem had 5 NBA titles with the Lakers. He was a man that changed the game of basketball. Luka can't shine Kareem's shoes.
There's never been a trade in season of 2 big stars for each other at this level. This is easily the biggest in season trade ever and it's not close.

Have to look up the biggest big star for big star trades overall.

Googling shows that this is now considered the biggest trade in NBA history at any time, not just in season. Big names have been traded before but never this big for each other. The other big trades (KD, Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, Barkley, etc) had packages of good but not superstar players coming back.

Elmore Smith -- #3 overall pick in '71, 13th in MVP voting in his second year, led the league in blocks in his 3rd year, career double-double average

Elmore "The Rejector" Smith...really liked him...but liked Karem better. lol

Kareem is a 19 time all star, 6 MVP, 6 NBA titles, etc. etc

You can take both Luka and AD and float them down the river with the turds compared to Kareem. You prolly should to stick with the Politics Forum.

Oh lord another one unafraid to advertise their stupidity. Kareem was a bigger name than both...but he wasn't traded for anyone big like these 2 were. Already listed all the names of this magnitude that got traded (KD, Wilt, Shaq, etc)...none were traded for equally big names until now. Also when Kareem was traded he didn't have nearly all that hardware.

Carry on.

They have very similar body types was the point, moron.

And Jokic has a better coach and has had better talent for MOST of Doncic's time in Dallas.
Similar body types??? Last I checked Jokic is a little bit taller…

Yes.

That is your point.

And literally nobody called him that at the time of the trade, or ever for that matter.

Holy hell. New Orleans __sent him home to keep him away from the team__.

QED.

Luka and Jokic are both a little chunky.

#Facts
If that’s what you wish to believe… Far from the same, though. You just like to compare the two because they’re both white skinned.

So you have said.

It was a bad breakup. Both parties had plenty of blame.

Please find me one former teammate or coach who has said AD is a cancer.

You can’t.

No, I said it because they are both chunky.

I'm a white guy married to a black woman so I am the last one anybody should be calling racist.

I always play a simple game when it comes to comparisons. If the Lakers called the Heat about trading them AD, they would offer back Butler and more before the Lakers finished the sentence. If the Heat called the Lakers and offered Butler for Davis, the Lakers would hang up and block their number

I'm again unsure if you are serious and stupid, or neither.

It took a decade of assets to rent Davis for just one season. On the same day, Butler was traded with Meyers Leonard for Josh Richardson, Hassan Whiteside, and a heavily-protected first.

Yes, Butler's trade value was vastly lower -- that's precisely why the Lakers should have traded for him ( and potentially others ) instead of wildly overspending to rent Davis for just one season.

It turns out that people who "always play simple games" are usually too simple to understand the topic.

A decade of assets that evidently were vastly overvalued by you.

All had significant warts that significantly hampered their value.

Alvin Gentry -- his coach who agreed to have him sent away from the team.

I'm done with this ridiculous nonsense.

He did not say that.

Find the quote.

Was in everyone’s best interest for AD to stay home. And NOT because AD was a cancer.

They get to tank and get a better pick, they don’t risk devaluing their trade asset and they can move forward developing players who would be on the team moving forward.

You are making stuff up.

Do you believe that Anthony Davis in 2020 had the single best contract year in the history of sports?

If not, then you are wrong -- because the Lakers paid more than any else ever has to rent one player for one season.

All had significant warts that significantly hampered their value.

What were the warts on those upcoming draft picks, exactly? Or, are you talking out of your nether regions again.

I shouldn't even waste my time on you, because I'm fairly sure you are illiterate or trolling, but you are seriously suggesting that John Richardson, Hassan Whiteside, and a heavily protected first is comparable to the haul the Lakers spent to rent Davis?

I would detail that haul here, but either you already know it, or you are just wasting my time.
