NolanNonsense: Ross' base running gaffe cost em the first one and extremely poor hitting by Burrell and Sandoval cost em the other. Hard to blame those on Bochy.

gp956: BS. Comprehension is not your friend, is it? Did you notice what the game state was after the run down? Wasn't it "exactly" the same state as if Ross had stayed put and Sanchez been out on the comebacker? So Ross' gaffe cost the Giants nothing, and actually put a faster runner at third - that's a serendipitous net plus at the end of the day.

NolanNonsense: I suppose it was. I was so pissed, I didn't realize that the runner behind Ross got to third. I thought he stayed at second. Still, it was a gaffe by Ross.

Teh Legend: Apology accepted, idiot.

On reflection...maybe it would be better to have the faster runner as the trailer.....Nolan would never call me on that, though.

OT: Poor Bobby Cox has to answer a bunch of pea brain questions. And Cox you are/were right, Pablo was 4 for 10, not 1 for 5.

I think you're right in an everyday game situation for what you've said above. That said, in this particular instance, I love having that faster runner on 3rd in a pitchers duel.

Bobby Cox is a stud.

I think Bobby Cox is the best manager of his generation. For realz.

> LaRussa, > Pinella, > Torre

Tell me I'm wrong.

Torre doesn't even belong in that conversation. But I do agree with the rest of it.

Yeah, right off the top of my head I was thinking a wild pitch type thing, rather than a gapper.

Torre deserves props but yes, weakest of the bunch.

Also, Cox > Francona and Leyland

Torre does deserve props in the sense that he's an above average manager. That said, what has the guy EVER done when not managing the Yankees?

Well, all managers are kind of irrelevant, maybe swing 2-3 games a year. But to win 4 rings in 5 years is pretty big.

I just meant to show that Cox is better than urrbody.

well, $200million payrolls and managing in the AL can do that ;). But yeah, that's still impressive.

And yes, you are 100% correct, Cox is better.

I kinda felt bad for Cox in that post-game interview. He clearly didn't want to be talking to those bone-headed reporters.

Did anybody else really want Bochy to pinch hit Renteria for Panda when Cox brought Venters into the game? Especially from the right side, you could kind of see a panic "I have to swing at the first pitch no matter what" moment brewing in Pablo's head.
