Sounds like the Giants are planning to sit a lot of starters this game, at least that's what one of their beat writers said on Twitter today based on what he's seen at practice this week. Still gotta go in with the mindset that the #1 seed is possible, but not sure how long we keep the starters in based on how the Philly game is going.
It's not just the Eagles. There is also the Vikings game to consider. If the Vikings beat the Bears during the noon game, we'll have to beat the Cards to keep the #2 seed.

And it's looking like the Bears will be without Fields, so we'll probably have to beat the Cards.

IF Deebo and Mitchell are healthy, think he'll play them at least on a pitch count. IMO you give them some reps in preparation for the play-offs, to knock off the rust. If they're not ready to go, then of course don't force it.

Yeah, Hufanga started the season like gangbusters, but that is long gone. His 'sixth sense' has gotten in him in trouble over the last 4 or 5 games. That's enough trouble for me to think about making adjustments.
Saw on Youtube Hufanga has 'given up' five TD's recently, and passer rating of 144. Based on this they say no doubt they'll target Hufanga.

True... at least the Minny game is early, so we'll know going in.

Why would you call a QB sneak for Purdy? I know it was on the 1-inch line, but the game situation didn't require a QB sneak. The risk-reward said hand it off, even if we didn't get the TD.

The offense started slow again. That can’t happen in the playoffs.

Purdy was very efficient again. 15 of 20 for 178, 3 TDs.
--He did it while getting sacked 4 times, and he suffered from 2 dropped passes
--I read somewhere that since he started playing in the Miami game, he is tied for the league lead with 13 TD passes and is first in passer rating (112). That’s crazy!

Mitchell and CMC were good on the ground. Mitchell was 5 for 55yds and 2 TDs and CMC ran for 4.5ypc.
--it was nice to see Mason and TDP get some carries in this game.
--Mitchell showed burst and was a good shot in the arm for the running game

BA caught 4 balls for 59yds and surpassed 1,000yds receiving for the season. Something you don’t see much in SF. Deebo caught 2 balls for 20yds in limited actions and Jennings had his usual catch for a first down.
--Juice got a catch for 26 yards. He should be a bigger part of the passing game. I seem to say that often.

As good as the OLine was in run blocking, The OLine struggled pass blocking in this game. They gave up 4 sacks and if Jimmy had been the QB it would’ve been 2 more. Seemed like no one could block JJ Watt. The Cards were getting interior pressure and it looks like the Oline could be weak against it. Something watch for in the playoffs.

The D stopped the run well for sure, but it was the pass defense that struggled (again). The defense started slow just like the offense.
--First thing, we give up a 77yd TD to the corpse of AJ Green. Looked like Demo and Gipson were in perfect position, but Demo mistimed his jump for the ball and then Gipson whiffed on the tackle.
--Demo was picked on some in this game and when the starters were pulled late, he was left out there. He needs the reps.
--The D finally woke up toward the half, getting pressure and forcing turnovers. The Niners ended with 3 sacks and 4 TFL.

Shanny was smart to pull our starters late and we didn't see any major injury concerns from this win. I have to question some of his playcalling, as we seemed to keep running into 8 and 9 man boxes when they were daring us to pass and WTH was up with the QB sneak near the goalline?

Not sure why the team seems to start slow and why the defense starts out getting killed. Coaches have to figure out a way to get off to better starts in the playoffs.

Winning this game locked up the 2 seed. Niners will play Seattle and start off as 10.5pt favorites.

Seemed like there was miscommunication between Burford and McGlichey? Granted JJ Watt is still pretty good, so credit to him. We'll see if they keep rotating Brunskill with Burford?

McGlinchey is now like JG in the sense we know what we'll get. We keep hoping McGlichey "picks it up" but alas, 6 or 7 out of 10. Anyway, if he and Burford gets beat fine, but don't allow sacks via miscommunication.
