Why do some people think you need a FG kicker and a punter? If you can do one, you can do the other.....It's not like asking a kicker to be a QB......Yet if you can play LT you obviously should be able to play RT......I promise you Sam Martin can kick FGs too.

I'm sure they've worked him out doing that in practice. If he could, he would be doing it. A 50 yarder is a 50/50 thing anyway... at best.

It's not like that was a 35 yarder. Sucks that he missed a long one to start off this go round with the Lions, but I don't expect guys to make all or even most of those.

May not have even attempted it with Hanson or Akers in the previous two seasons.

But I don't think we'll see Martin attempt any field goals unless there's an in game injury.
