It's not like that was a 35 yarder. Sucks that he missed a long one to start off this go round with the Lions, but I don't expect guys to make all or even most of those.

May not have even attempted it with Hanson or Akers in the previous two seasons.

But I don't think we'll see Martin attempt any field goals unless there's an in game injury.

You're probably right, I remember SUH getting the nod a few years ago ahead of the punter when Hanson got injured against the JETS.

That's a 1st down if he's faster than an LB. Penalty would have brought it back anyway.

I think finding a punter would be easier than finding an actual longterm kicker. Converting Martin could be an option. At this point the organization shouldn't rule anything out
