What planet you been on lately dude? Obviously we have a #1 CB, and it aint Mathis. Beyond that, Mathis was the #12 ranked CB last year and 18th, I believe, the year before that. Go ahead and get caught up on his age- I'm gonna be a homer and focus on how well he plays his position, which happens to be very well.

He's certainly not the future at the position, but he's more than good enough for the right now, and at a bargain price to boot.

As someone who was a huge fan of Chris Greenwood I refuse to put any faith in a developmental CB. Have the Lions EVER had one of those?

Yeah Gandy been around for awhile only brought up McNorton because most wouldn't remember Mike Weger and Wayne Rasmussen a pair of 9th round picks from the 60's that became decent DB's. I hate to age myself Gandy but NFL Champs and 1st grade go together.
