According to PFF Poona Ford and Dalvin Tomlinson are better than Javon Hargrave as a whole over the last three years. Obviously, Hargrave is better at pass rush and surprisingly is worse at run defending and tackling.

I'm glad Brad is running this team. You guys would have this roster FUBARed in one off season.

Ooh, lets sign all these pricey free agents.

Ooh, lets trade back and take a lessor player at a lessor position.

Geezus Kryst.

I just dont think we have the money. Maybe cut Romeo and Vaitai then we will have some bucks to spend.

If Lions waive those 2, after accounting for draft pick holds the would have 20-23 million. They would also be over 51 players so any contract sign another would would drop off from the salary cap.

So depending on how the structure the contracts they actually have pretty good ability to add. Chark for example go 10 million, but only counted 5 against the cap. They can't go crazy. But the could fill a couple of critical needs without issue.

Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Williams will draw some interest from the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and perhaps other teams as well.

It’s a strong year of supply at RB in both free agency and the NFL draft, which could deflate Williams’ value. Spotrac estimates Williams’ value at just over $4 million per season.

I don't understand all the love being given towards Maryland CB Deonte Banks. He has the physical stature and athletic traits, but I'm not seeing a 1st round CB that you'd hope becomes a CB1. Several media analysts have moved him up into top 25 players overall and this was before his combine.

Pierschbacher was a restricted free agent, meaning the Lions could have offered him a tender at a set contract value (minimum $2.6 million), but the Lions opted to forego that option and just sign him to a new contract instead. That’s a good sign the deal will be significantly less than that minimum.

In short, the Lions have offered Pittman a one-year contract at the salary minimum, and now Pittman must decide whether he wants to sign that contract or sit out the 2023 season. Those are his only two options.

Does anyone on this board still think Holmes needs to sign a proven, reliable, veteran outside CB that can immediately step into a starting role to add to the mix as a just in case scenario?

I cannot fathom Holmes only relying upon Okudah, Jacobs and a rookie for starter roles as outside CB1 and CB2.

I think for sure we need one. Can't count on a rookie dominating out the gate no matter where we draft them.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Chark in a HYG or even Bears Jersey next season.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) also has a 2023 NFL free agency tracker and their latest update ranked the top 201 potential unrestricted free agents, of which the Lions are represented with six of their UFAs. One of the neat things about PFF’s tracker is that not only do they rank the players across the league, but they also provided projected contracts for each.

DJ Chark, WR

POD team rank: 2nd
PFF NFL rank: 58th
Previous contract: 1 year, $10 million (fully guaranteed)
PFF projected salary: 3 years, $35 million ($23.5 million guaranteed)

Normally I view this as a chance for a comp pick, but I think Lions will be spending some this off season. Losing him will be for absolutely nothing. It still may be best.
