Jefferey Okudah has entered the draft...

Scheme Fit: Press Man-to-Man

Round Projection: Early 1st-Round

Positives (+)

Patience: Fluid hips and active feet, combined with a true wait-and-see approach while entering the initial part of his technique help him remain patient. A slight, but repetitive backpedal enables him to stay low and allow the opposition to work a release. Never panics or falls into the trap of biting on over-exaggerated movements from wideouts. Makes it an essential point to allow them to eventually reveal the move that they’re trying to perform. Strike and punch timing with his jam hand is often accurate and effective.

Closing Speed: He already doesn’t give a lot of ground from the starting stages of reps, but when allowing space or separation down the field, he has the stride length and makeup speed in order to reappear into throwing windows. His longer than normal arm length allows him to constantly be a nuisance to catch areas. Okudah possesses a high level understanding of angles and isn’t afraid to take risks with undercutting patterns to make plays on the ball in the underneath areas.

Fast and Smooth Feet: His lower half always maintains its balance and patience stays intact. Staying in a vertical line, his body remains in position while receivers are eating away at his cushion. His feet remain fast and they quickly churn, which helps him stay on track and ready for any type of quick twitch movements in any and every direction.

Scheme Versatility: Ohio State’s defensive scheme allows a large mixture of man and zone coverage concepts. This was beneficial for Okudah as he gained experience with his back to the sideline as well as being able to come up and challenge receivers in press man coverage. He shows to be a bit more comfortable when able to challenge wideouts at the line, but zone turning will not be a foreign technique to him when asked to do it on the next level due to previous encounters.

I have to hope that the have spent 2 1sts on DE in the last 3 years will make this more likely.

Plus don’t they need a LT? I could see them trading back w Miami and still getting him or Jeudy.

DK Metcalf caught 7-of-9 targets for 160 yards and one touchdown in Seattle's Wild Card win over the Eagles.

His 160 receiving yards were the most by a rookie in a playoff game in league history. Philadelphia's secondary had no answer for the burly 6'3/228 speedster, getting burnt for a 53-yard extra-effort touchdown that the rookie lunged for, then allowing him to run wide open up the seam for the game-clinching 36-yard grab as he threw up the deuces to the The Linc while all promptly filed out. Metcalf also hauled in 26- and 24-yard gains to move the chains on important third-down situations mid-game. Expect Russell Wilson to go right back to leaning on Metcalf in Seattle's Divisional Round matchup in Green Bay.

Definitely didn't need this guy. His hands of stone were just too much to overlook a guy that is 6'3/228 and runs a 4.3.
How can one be a PROFESSIONAL FUCKING GM and overlook such an obvious stud not once but twice.

I will call it right now that if Chase Young is sitting there at #3, there is a 50/50 chance AT BEST that Quinn red nuts even selects him. I can see him and gatorade castle Patricia passing on the obvious pick for a "scheme fit" kinda guy.

Lowest % rush rate from this team so what's the purpose of wasting a talented player, like Chase Young, when the HC won't utilize his talents to the fullest.

If you're pissed with the signing of Trey Flowers, you'll be tens times that amount drafting Young.

Besides all of that above, I'll take a player who plays 90%-100% snaps in LT Thomas or CB Okudah than some DE or DT who at best will be playing up to 60% of the defenses snaps. jmo and not a damn thing more.

He has a 103% success rate against triple blockers. That is right! more than 100% of the time if you send 3 blockers at him he is in the backfield. Who needs a blitz

That's where I'm at.

But more because Young deserves better than being a Lion than any thing else.

Tua declaring should help us. Do we:

A) Draft him at 3

B) Trade down w someone (Miami/LA) who wants to trade up for him and gets extra picks.

C) Draft Chase Young at 3 after someone trades up w the Redskins for him.

D) Nobody trades up for him and we stay put at 3 and take whoever.

E) Draft him at 3 then trade him the Patriots for their 2034 5th rounder and a swap of 2020 7th round picks.

passed on 63 times. There's a reason why. Russell Wilson makes him look better than he really is.

D.K. Metcalf Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com

I'll take Golladay over Metcalf 10/10.

Kenny Golladay Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Why would you choose one over the other when we would have both? lol

Regardless, you can pull out any stats you want. When you watch the game, the guy is clearly a play maker with elite upside. Also, why wouldn't Stafford make Metcalf better? Like Stafford sucks or something lol.

This dude is dropping rookie records while Hockinsuck is popping off gems like 6 catches for 18 yards. lol

Not sure how you can even try to argue that Hockinson was a better pick.

I would say C if I was GM.
But since red nuts is our GM, E is the only choice.

Not Necessarily,
We draft Young. Fattycakes mismanages him. His crumb infested beard and gingersnaps get tossed out of town where they go back to nestle under Belicheck's balls.

We REHIRE Marnelli. His DL teachings can bring Young and Flowers into the fiercest tandem in the NFL. Couple that with slow, steady pounding the rock offense. We will be back to the promised land in no time.
