The fallacy in this is ridiculous. I guess the Phillies should have been expecting a ~4.00 ERA when they traded for Cliff Lee?
Lester's strikeout rate this year is in line with 2009-10 and his walk rate is by far the lowest of his career right now. His K/BB ratio this year is 4.66, his career best was 3.52 in 2009. He currently has an FIP and xFIP lower than what they were in 2009-10.
well the ironic thing is that he is actually pitching at almost a 4.00 right now, dont get me wrong lester is having a great season this season but it isnt wise to expect him to keep having this type of success past 30 not to many players get better with age
