The dodgers are in last place and 6 games out, so whether one is a pessimist or optimist, things are what they are. I have to believe that with healthy bodies finally returning that the Dodgers are more likely to pick up ground than slip away. If they can improve the pitching, then one can only feel that much better about things.
And it's now six in a row. Not bad and Puig strikes again. I liked seeing Mattingly putting Ethier in LF and returning Puig to RF. Matt Kemp had a nice game, too. We need to see Kemp flex his power muscle.
A funny thing happened at the 'ole ballpark tonight..........we will just move on from there and look forward to the Dodgers starting a new streak tomorrow.
The Dodgers best relief pitcher this season is Skip Schumaker. He's made two appearances and has a 0.00 ERA to show for his efforts!
Dodgers need to repair their BP. Besides Jansen, Howell and Rodriguez, this is a fire brigade.
I can see Crawford or Ethier hitting the road before long.
Didn't work out as expected Sillas. We need to take out the trash so to speak with this pitching staff (Lilly, Capuano, League), at this point I'd rather be giving some young guys a shot to show their stuff (zack lee? maybe Schumaker?). This was the biggest losing margain ever at Dodger stadium but it is just one game and we didn't exactly throw Kenley Jansen out there behind Capuano's performance.
I have belief in Kemp, plus he has to and I believe will step it up due to Puig. Worked pretty well when some guy named Manny playing for us for a bit.
Dodgers are back in the Win column, but it sure wasn't easy. Belisario almost gave the game away, and the Dodgers looked shabby on defense in the 9th.........even Mr. Puig (I guess he's human afterall).
Hanley Ramirez is on fire and we can thank him for tonight's win. Matt Kemp still isn't getting the job done.
Hard to believe that the Dodgers are only 5 games out of 1st Place. They are now just a game behind the Giants. It's pretty unbelievable when you think about it.
Still no word on a possible trade for Nolasco or Garza or anyone else. Would expect something pretty soon.
Strong finish to this Series by the Dodgers. Puig has 4 hits. He's really amazing. How about Fife? He is doing a nice job in the 5 spot. Dodgers should have a deal in place for another Starter this week.
Dodgers are 4 games out of First Place. That is amazing.
Baseball is certainly a game of momentum and, as we've seen of late, the Dodgers are riding high these days. They'll no doubt slow down, but I believe they've reached a point in the season where we shouldn't see the kind of play that almost buried them during the first two months of the season. At least that's the hope.
Dodgers' bats have come alive of late, in addition to Puig's monster numbers, and with the pitching staying afloat, that should bode well for the future.
Nolasco probably won't be dealt until this weekend.
Good to see Puig isn't seriously hurt and should be back in the lineup, unless Mattingly gives him a day off to let that hip get some rest. But, it's hard to keep him out of the lineup with the way he is playing.
Another good game. Dodgers are now tied for 2nd Place which is quite remarkable considering where they've been most of the season.
Good to see Kemp get something done out there tonight, all I have left for him at this point is hope that he'll come out of this soon. We all know his ability, he needs to get his head straight.
Hanley Ramirez playing like Hanley, batting a quiet .412 after tonight's game, while still looking a little hobbled. With the emergence of Puig, the steadiness of Gonzalez and the return of Hanley, our offense is finally giving our guys some run support. This is the way we envisioned this team performing, keep the hot streak going blue.
