As long as Tony can maintain his health and play, his contract isn't too crazy, but he has a huge guarantee if he can no longer suit up. Each year the sting of that guarantee goes down though.

On the Seahawks, yes RW is worth $20 mil, and even then partially because there is no viable Plan B.

On another team that runs a different scheme, probably. The Seahawks lean on the run more than any other team in the league right now. That takes a ton of pressure off of RW. Take away a strong run game and perhaps RW isn't nearly as successful.

The argument is somewhat moot though. The Seahawks will give RW pretty much what he wants that is south of $25 mil a year. If RW insists on his king's ransom, then franchise tag him for as long as possible

Lynch's clock is ticking. He'll be here and performing for another year, maybe two. Mark my words, you put any other runningback behind that offensive line and they will not perform at the level we are used to under Marshawn Lynch.

I completely agree. Once Lynch is out hopefully we can spend that money saved on quality O-linemen

If he was on an average team, he still would be the best young QB in the league this side of Andrew Luck under the age of 30.

I don't think there is ANY question about that right now.

When has any player in this league that is one of the best at his position under the age of 30 signed for anything less than a record setting deal for his position (with no injuries to worry about)? I'll save you the trouble of looking it up....never is the answer.

We have never seen a QB of his caliber hit the modern FA market since Brees. And Brees only did because he had a shoulder injury the offseason he was heading into FA.

Anyone thinking he isn't worth $20M a year simply does not understand this league in the LEAST.

20 million is what QB's are going to make going forward. He's a hot young QB so that's what he's going to make. The market's about to get inflated again. I remember back in the day when Rickey Henderson signed a (gasp) 3 million+ contract with the A's. The A's had to top his contract to pay Canseco 4 million+. Rickey immediately started bitching.

The QB salaries are about to blow up again. Is he worth 20 mill? Probably not. But a lot of guys that are going to see the same money won't be worth it either.

The Patriots basically gave Brady a $3 million raise for the last 3 years of the contract he signed in 2013. That contract was average of $14.12 million per year. So add $1 mil to that number:
