No, they're not the same. Kobe was better at playing. His playing was better than Kyrie's playing is now.

Kyrie honestly thinks he can be the best player in the game someday.

The problem is- he just isnt near the athlete Kobe was. He doesnt have the physical ability to be a plus defender. Maybe with work and effort he could become someone who is not a net negative defensively- but theres nothing he can do that would ever make him a good defensive player.
