Jesus Christ, some of you....

It's a June 1st cut so the dead cap hit is $0.00... nobody is trading for Baker Mayfraud. Yah some team may sign him (everyone speculates Seattle) but no team in their right fuckin' head is trading for him. We're literally 2 days away from where Baker is going.

He'll attract interest on the market for sure... but no team is going to absorb his huge salary at this stage in the game.
June 1st has absolutely no effect on Bakers contract if he's cut.

He played in 2017 and 2019....not so sure I'd say he played well. My guess is also he plays if watson is out...just not the lock so many think IMO, especially if out a long time.
Mayfield won't start another game for the Browns.

You can take that to the bank.

No, they won't trade for him at his current salary but when an injury occurs they will.....trade a 3rd (most likely) or a 4th for Mayfield and his 8 mill salary (when the Browns eat about 10 mill) and a 5th or 6th rounder.

Cool....why did you think saying Brissett played well in 2017 and 2019 should have been used to make your case?

:L

Because, you said for a few games but not a long period of time. You clearly aren't familiar with him.

Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell. Now they were all true busts.

Is anyone in this thread willing to say that jackass in cleats BM is in the same category as those three QB's?

He's in the same category as many of the QBs on the infamous QB jersey, do you consider those QBs busts?

I think Mayfield is a mid pack QB. Definitely not top ten, definitely not bottom ten.
The way I see it, he had one season with decent coaching & no injuries.

2018 and 2020 he was a pretty damn good QB.

BM's record: 29-30 (92/56 TD to int. ratio, 61.6% completion) with a road playoff win

Smith's record: 3-14 (5/13, 46.6%)

Leaf's record: 4-17 (14/36, 48.4%)

Russell's record: 7-18 (18/23, 52.1%)

I'm not a Mayfield fan. But you need to explain why you think he's bad as those other QB's. The numbers clearly show he's not.

And yes Smith, Russell & Leaf are all true busts.

I agree with that. He's not in top half of current QB's. But he's not at the bottom either.

Although he had two decent seasons. He had a good rookie & third year. The second & forth weren't good.

not arguing.
2018 he was an unknown, but still made rookie mistakes. I would be happy with his rookie year if on my team.
2020 is the year I talk about if trying to figure out his skill level.
He was known by DCs, but had good coaching for once & was healthy that year. 3-1 ratio for TDs/INTs
Some great Qbs can overcome bad coaching, but I dont see Baker in that category.

Bar is really set low, if his best season being QB 18, is considered damn good.
2018: As a rookie, he was 11th in TD's and set a rookie record for QB's. He threw for more ypg than such QB's as Watson, Dak, Stafford, RUSSELL WILSON (he was 28th that season). He only threw 14 INT's, pretty impressive for a rookie. 12th in ypa. Borderline top 1 QB as a rookie.

2020: 12th in TD passes. Just 8 INT's.

Aaron Rodgers averaged the fewest interceptions per hundred attempts by a quarterback in 2020, with 1.0 per hundred. In comaprison? Mayfield was at 1.6.

No I don't need to compare him to the all time busts in the NFL to call him a bust. If you want we can use a different word maybe failure is a better word or disappointment or underachiever.

Now I agree with the disappointment label.

He didn't live up to expectations as a former # 1 overall pick.

This is pure sarcasm right now. But what will you do if the Browns release BM and your Seahawks pick him up? :heh:
