Every situation is unique to some degree and their will always be differences. We are reading the tea leaves here and from my view the Browns and Mayfield are divorcing and neither the Browns or Mayfield want Mayfield on the roster or taking a snap. What is happening at the moment is haggling about terms of the divorce and it's not looking good for the Browns IMO.
Great....from my view they are divorcing as well. where I disagree with you is your absurd opinion that Baker is not better off IF he played for the Browns and played well.

Every situation unique to some degree? Those situations are polar opposites (Baker and Green/williams)

would add kind of odd you offer your opinion about what you think will happen (even though it hasn't) but are spooked when asked what might have happened if Baker was put on the trade market after 2020.

what do you mean no idea?
Means I don't know.

Like most who would refuse to answer
I've answered all your questions, you just don't like the answers. It seems to me your trying to win a disagreement my trying to wear me down with prove it, give me examples, and what ifs and so forth.

Nope.....at this point just having fun as I know you cannot simply own how foolish some of your comments have been. Baker not better off playing and playing well among the most comical.

You also don't know that the Browns and Baker will divorce, but it does not scare you to offer an opinion on that.

You have answered all my questions? Great. Must have missed the answer to this one......If the Browns put Baker on the market after 2020 what could they have received back in your opinion?

I know you want to give me a bunch of homework, but I'm not trying to pass your class so not going back to 2020 and look at the QB situation, cap situation, teams individual draft capitol and so on to give a answer to a hypothetical question/ situation that as far as I'm concern has no bearing on what we are discussing and even if it did have some bearing, there is no way to know what the Browns could of gotten for Mayfield in 2020. I assume you feel there is some "GOT YOU" involved in asking that question, but think it's a silly game your playing.

did you lie when you said you answered all my questions? But to help you out, after 2020 Baker was coming off an exceptional season (top 10 in QBR and PFF rating). A far better season than Darnold. They were under a nearly identical contract. Exact same deal for 2022 (5th year option season) while Baker was to be paid a tad more in the upcoming season at the time in 2021 than Darnold.

Darnold went for a 2 and a 4.

No way to know? Hope that helps a little.

FYI, there really is no gotcha moment as irrational people like yourself cannot be gotten in their minds.

Oh I see, you wanted to point out that Darnold got traded for a 2 and a 4, therefore Mayfield would have gotten a better return? Maybe, could depend if they tried before or after Darnold got traded, which was in fact a stupid trade by the Panthers. One sucker in ever crowd.
However that was then and this is now and teams have seen the results of making foolish trades like the Panthers did trading for Darnold and it's not pretty. If the Browns find a sucker to pay like that for Mayfield it won't be pretty either IMO, but doesn't look like anyone is biting. Well Browns fans are use to tough luck. At times I really do feel bad for you.

Going to have to add Mayfield to the jersey.

If the Browns put Baker on the market after 2020 would they have received offers for him? If so, what type of offers in your opinion? See if you can answer like a big boy with no agenda.
IF, the Browns put Baker on the market in 2020, they probably get at least a 1 and a 2, maybe two 1's.

Unfortunately it's not 2020. Now add two years later, and multiple burnt bridges, what is his worth?

Going to have to add Mayfield to the jersey.
And with Clevelands QB track record, dare I say Watson.

No disagreement there....with hindsight after 2020 was the time to move him.

I only mentioned that year as a certain poster has implied he was never really worth anything and even IF he played again like he did in 2020 for the Browns in 2022 (as Watson's replacement during an suspension) no one would want him or at least would not offer much in trade and/or be willing to extend him.

Darnold was traded before his 4th season. The Panthers acquired that 4th season at under $5M. They chose to pick up the 5th year at $18M+ making it a $23M over 2 seasons deal. Personally I had Darnold valued at about a 5th round pick for 1 year at under $5M. At $23M over 2 seasons I thought he had negative value. A team making a bad trade for Darnold doesn't create a trade value for Mayfield.

Cool, but for THIS discussion we are talking what Baker could return IF he played well, like he played in 2020. ....and if this was best for Baker to play like that. For some reason you cannot understand what is so obvious. IF he played like that there would be a decent return and it would be best for Baker to play like that.

Problem is it would be terrible for baker if he gets injured filling in for a team that doesn’t want him. Therefore he’ll never play for the browns again

He could be forced to play, of lose out on 18M.

Now if he's sacked hard and "injured" he could avoid playing and be paid.

Except, Mayfield is better than Darnold.

Mayfield is a 16-18 starter in the League while Darnold is about to be a career backup after his deal expires in Carolina.
