I'd bet even money he never does again but I could see him playing here.No chance he ever plays for them again, I'd bet on it.

No chance he suits up for them again. At worst, they tell him to stay home till they find a trade for him.He could, but if they believe Baker is a lot better than him (and I'm not sure if they do) I would think they'd keep Baker.
I could see this.....but could also see them sitting down with Baker and tell him the best thing for everyone is put his head down and work. Prove he can be the man so he can be moved AND paid. You know this as well as I do......NBA teams tell players they want to they need to stay away from the team until they can find a trade for them.
I can see the Browns doing that.
There is zero chance the steelers go after Mayfield.
They wouldnt go get their bridge gap QB & then draft their future QB, just to go spend more money on another bridge gap QB.
No chance Mayfield plays for the steelers.
Now the Seahawks on the other hand........
Browns offer to add a 2nd in 2023 and pay at least half his salary then maybe.....there could a discussion. Please baby Jesus let the Seahawks get Baker
We will see. It's certainly more likely Baker has played his last snap as a Brown than not.

Agreed. And for whatever reason they still have faith in Mason Rudolph. Or at least they intend to keep him around long enough to garner trade interest. There is zero chance the steelers go after Mayfield.

Don't be so sure about that. I think it's a good possibility if Watson is not suspended for the beginning of this season that Baker is cut. They don't want him around and no one wants to trade for himHe's not getting cut
Here's the only way BM possibly plays a snap for the Browns this season. This is assuming they don't trade or cut him. But I think he's gone. Wait, I should say I hope he's gone.
Watson's suspension ends up being longer than expected. Brissett is either lousy or gets injured before Watson's allowed to play.
If those things would happen would BM be next in line to play?

Because they don't want him and his drama around the team. They have enough drama with their new predator QB, the last thing they need is Baker also being around. Yes they pay him either way but I think they rather him stay at home than show up at the field and there is only one way to guarantee that. The money is a sunk cost. Baker is at this point addition by subtractionAs I said there is no reason to cut him. They'd save zero dollars. They can pay him to stay home for the exact same money.
Pay someone almost 19 million to stay home and twit things about how the Browns are dysfunctional? As I said there is no reason to cut him. They'd save zero dollars. They can pay him to stay home for the exact same money.

No one gave a QB in the middle of incredibly serious legal issues and almost guaranteed to be suspended $230M guaranteed before either, yet here we are...If you can find a single starting qb in the history of the league that the team cut him so he could sign with another team AND also made nearly 20 million dollars on a one year deal you let me know.
Because I can't think of one.
I can recall teams paying another team to take a expensive QB off their hands, Goff to the Lions being the most recent. Not sure about being cut but think the Eagles suffered like 33 million in dead money to move Wentz. Browns always have the option to pay a team to take Mayfield, maybe offer a second to pay half his contract or a first ( not sure the Browns have one though) to take all of Mayfield contract, or just cut him and eat the dead money. If you can find a single starting qb in the history of the league that the team cut him so he could sign with another team AND also made nearly 20 million dollars on a one year deal you let me know.
