Steelers have went with Pickett and they also have Trubs so no they would not swoop in to pick up Mayfield.Nope. For the simple fact the Steelers would swoop in and sign him.

You know this as well as I do......NBA teams tell players they want to they need to stay away from the team until they can find a trade for them.Yep
There is no reason to cut him. They'd have to pay him Regardless. If he refused to come to camp he can start losing money.
Browns cutting him would be absolutely insane for a myriad of reasons.
Yeah, they would. If he was released.Steelers have went with Pickett and they also have Trubs so no they would not swoop in to pick up Mayfield.
No your wrong on all counts, except maybe he better then Trubs.Yeah, they would. If he was released.
Mayfield is better than Trubs and Pickett is for the future, not right now.
In your opinion I am wrong. No your wrong on all counts.
"Even Browns fans" your funny. Lets ask Steelers fans.In your opinion I am wrong.
I am right and even Browns fans know it.
Been on the Steelers board and they said they would easily."Even Browns fans" your funny. Lets ask Steelers fans.
Cutting him is the one thing I can't see happening.Yep

They won't.Cutting him is the one thing I can't see happening.
Not since Pickett was drafted you didn't. @Superbelt , @thedddd , @Pure Steel,@FaCe-LeE-uS ,@SteelersPride what you Steelers fans think? Would and should the Steelers swoop in and sign Mayfield if he is cut, given that the Steelers drafted Pickett and have Trubs?Been on the Steelers board and they said they would easily.
Because, he's better than any QB on their roster.
No way that's happening. Not since Pickett was drafted you didn't. @Superbelt , @thedddd , @Pure Steel what you Steelers fans think? Would and should the Steelers swoop in and sign Mayfield if he is cut, given that the Steelers drafted Pickett and have Trubs?
No way this happens now. A lot has changed since they drafted Pickett in the 1st round. Too much capital invested now.Not since Pickett was drafted you didn't. @Superbelt , @thedddd , @Pure Steel what you Steelers fans think? Would and should the Steelers swoop in and sign Mayfield if he is cut, given that the Steelers drafted Pickett and have Trubs?
I don't think the Steelers would even glance at the idea of Mayfield.Yeah, they would. If he was released.
Mayfield is better than Trubs and Pickett is for the future, not right now.
In a heartbeat they would.I don't think the Steelers would even glance at the idea of Mayfield.

I mean, if a team traded for him it's likely as their starter. Doubt they base their offer on what he'd be for the Browns....which will never be as a 3rd string clipboard holder.I would agree he is better then Osweiler by a good bit. Yet his situation is looking similar as no team has shown much interest in trading for him. Watson is the QB for the Browns going forward and 18 million for a third string clip board holder is not appealing. I say 3rd string because if Watson is not able to play then Brisset starts, that's the path the Browns are going down. Doubt they trust Mayfield and I doubt Mayfield would risk a injury by playing. Better for him to collect his checks and become a free agent next off season.
I can only speculate why Mayfield is still on the Browns and my guess is the Browns over played their hand at the beginning when they had conversations about Mayfield and so teams moved onto other options. So how do you move Mayfield now, when teams are no longer interested?
agree.....what's the hurry? We will see. Basically the Browns are in a spot where they are eating some of his deal regardless. No one has the space for him unless they trade a player of equal contract out for him.
I certainly understand the logic of saving money for future seasons but I tend to favor the Browns sitting and waiting on a team with an injury.
I guess, but who is signing Baker to a new longterm deal without first seeing him prove he's healthy? The cap space argument is a complete red herring. Mayfield could sign a new 5 year deal with him having a 2023 void if it got him out of Cleveland. Even if a new team took on the entire $18.86M contract it could reduce his 2022 cap hit to under $4.5M, and you've agreed that the Browns are eating part of that salary anyway.
There's no rush for the Browns to do anything in May, but without a potential trading team having a QB injury his value is going to drop even further.
He could, but if they believe Baker is a lot better than him (and I'm not sure if they do) I would think they'd keep Baker.Nah, Brissett could start, the first half of their schedule isn't that bad and he would be playing with more talent than he has ever had on offense.
