Speaking of Watson how long you think it'll take the league to decide how many games he'll miss?
I need more info before I can try to answer.

When Jerry was trying to oust Goodell, what side of thr fence was the Browns owners on?

What side of the fence was that idiot Haslam on? Really have no idea. But if you didn't like his position on that he must have been for not ousting Sheriff Goodell? That's my guess.

Just would like to know before the season starts how much time he'll miss. I'm not following what's going on with all of Watson's issues. How long will all this stuff take, could it be dragged out for a long time?
would not surprise me if the Browns already have a good idea, but sure would be nice if we knew, too.

Tony Grossi (if you know who he is) said something recently I agree with....league likely does not want any influence on the civil case so they may not render a decision until it's over.

HOUSTON (AP) — Deshaun Watson returned to practice with the Houston Texans on Monday after not taking part in workouts for almost a week.
Watson reported to camp on time and was on the field for the team’s first five days of practice, participating in individual drills only. When the players wore pads for the first time this season last TuesdayHe continued to be absent from practice until Monday , he did not participate and was not on the field.
when he trotted onto the field with the rest of the team. He only worked during individual drills and went into the indoor practice facility after the first five periods of work. He returned to the field near the end of the two-hour practice and watched as his teammates went through 11-on-11 work.
Coach David Culley refused to say why Watson stopped practicing with the team last week, and he wasn’t available to answer questions regarding his return Monday because he spoke before practice.

I think at best this is what the Browns can expect from Mayfield. Just enough to get paid and not a thing more.
could be......but one difference is Houston did not care if they won games last season. The Browns care.

I agree and is why they won't use a player who is just going through the motions. Mayfield is all ready damaged goods and is not going to risk a injury IMO.

In 3 years, Browns fans will barely remember this whole ugly situation IMO.

Ask Steeler fans to list Big Ben's top 100 most memorable moments. Not 1 will list the story about him getting handsy in a restaurant bathroom even though that was a pretty big moment at the time.

How many Bronco fans list out Payton Manning's obvious PED use? Patriot fans will only list Brady's deflategate because they feel like it was unjust (even though it was Brady's actions AFTER the investigation that got him rightfully in trouble). 49ers fans dont remember that Montana forced his way out of town and forced the 49ers to accept a lesser offer. Ect, ect, ect.

Keep your head down and sooner than later, Browns fans and the rest of the league is going to fully understand what a steal the Browns got this offseason.
Mayfield got them to a oh so close reach of the AFC title game but Watson is a legit top 5 QB and should be able to get them to their ultimate destination.....a SB appearance sometime within the lifetime of his contract.

I mean, if he wants to get traded and then get paid would seem his best plan is come in, ball out and prove the doubters wrong.

Not sure he can do it....but likely he thinks he can.

Risk and reward . The reward is playing well and enhancing his value, the risk is playing badly or even worse suffering a major injury which would surely put a damper on his out look as a NFL QB. The trend has been to not risk an injury.

Or get released and still get paid, then sign with another team for extra $$$.

I'm calling it now.

At the midnight hour (very early in camp) the Browns will trade Mayfield.

I say it will be a 7th but it could be as high as a 5th.

Maybe Mayfield and a 6th or 7th for a 5th.

Sounds about right but you left off where the Browns pay most of his salary.

IMO not if its just a 7th, but yes that is possible.

I'm sure the Browns dreams of a 1st are long gone, I'm also sure they aint getting a 4th.

Edit, if they get a 4th they are sending a 5th and salary relief.

IDK a 7th and saving 3-4 million vs cutting him and getting nothing and paying his almost 19 million salary

That's kind of the thing. How much is a draft pick worth?

That has more to do with the compensation the Browns get back then the actual player in this trade.

Years ago the Browns got a 2nd round pick back from Houston just to eat Osweiler's deal. You could actually see the Browns give up more than they get back in draft compensation all depending on how much $'s off of Mayfield's contract the team is willing to eat. The Lions got more than they should have for Stafford in part because they ate Goff.

It's also what makes a trade hard to guess on. Browns eat $7M of the contract and if I am the trading team, I am still asking for a 4th back for him and I will give up a 7th. But if the Browns eat $11 M, where does it go then? How much is a draft pick worth?

I could see the Browns giving a draft pick to move Mayfield and save some on his salary.

Possible, I do think someone will get Mayfield for a throw away pick, giving them a year to evaluate if he's their future.

If he does hit free agency, a team might have to give him a 3 year deal.

Could end up like the Osweiler's situation, Browns give a pick to save on salary.

Oh yeah I know the name Tony Grossi. Is he still with the Plain Dealer?
