Fuck that, I’ll bang browning’s drum. If you think Haener looking good with backups against an FCS defense is reason to give him a shot over your 4th year senior quarterback who’s set records and already led the team to the playoff and a former BCS bowl, you’re nuts.

He’s made some uncharacteristic mistakes, but the entire offense has looked like shit. They’ll get their shit together, and if they don’t it’s gonna take way more than benching Browning to make it happen.

Browning is also banged up again though. If his knee is causing him to not play up to his ability they may have no choice at some point.

The staff knows way more than we do about where both QB's are at and what their capability is. If they feel Haener gives them a better chance at winning then they should put him in. I'm simply not banking they are making as much out of his 7 of 7 game in garbage time against scrubs as some fans are.

It's hard with Adams out, Harris is banged up and now the younger trench dawgs have to really step up .
Oline is the toughest unit to dial in. Guys really need to know the strengths of the guy next to them and there weakness's as well to help out. And for the life of me when a team runs a zone offense, it really is tough to learn that style of blocking for younger guys, ( believe me coaches lie when they say its easy to learn). When you run that offense and opponents run different fronts on their defenses it can screw with the blocking of who has who on what play....

And as for Bush and the play calling, Im honestly at the point with this staff that they take for ever dialing it what works for them and take the first month of the year to run every damn play in their playbook just to see run fits and pass fits so they can make adjustments later in the season .

You younger guys looking to get into coaching, this is why you want to be defensive coach, to much over thinking on the offense....lol

Gaskin with 143y and the defense holding Utah to 7 points despite turnovers that gave them good field position and being in a road game. Really the best things you can bring up for this one.

Offense overall was again just weird. Drop the fucking wildcat. It's dumb and hasn't really worked so just stop it. Thankfully they didn't have to rely on any FG's, but the punter had some derp and once again the coverage was pitiful.

Beat the point spread and won a road game against a team they have struggled against, but still don't feel great coming out of that one. Utah shot themselves in the feet over and over and those ejections clearly killed them.

Ugly win is a win still though so there's that.

Have to assume he was banged up or something.

McGrew I believe had more snaps than Ahmed.
Yeah, but if he was banged up, why bring him in for those plays in the second half? He got no carries in the first, and 3 in the second and didn't look banged up or anything.

They are using him with special packages only and he's got way more talent than a spot special package player.

I simply don't get it.

Amen. No 7:30 start time for BYU. Fox will handle the broadcast.

5:30 is still not exactly ideal but it's much better than 7:30.

Didn't renew my season tickets, but I might actually get tickets to that one. Only going to a couple home games this year then probably going to Oregon for the game down there and Pullman for the Apple Cup.

Crap I thought this would be hopping after the win on Saturday.....

First off even though they didn't cover the spread, ( and of course I took them and drop some vcash)
I still thought it was a good game for them. I honestly feel the closer games they win the better.
Keeps them sharp and focused...

On a scale of 1 to 10 where are your nerves heading into this game? BYU unexpectedly ranked and already have knocked off a top 10 (lolz on that) team in their house. They run a pesky offense that will likely keep UW in a fairly vanilla defense much of the game, but then UW isn't a big time blitzing or exotic look defense normally anyway.

I don't expect their shifts to cause as many problems for this defense, but they do have a fairly strong ground game and have been pretty solid at scheming it up thus far. That Canada feller put up 118 on wisky and they had 191 overall yards on the ground. They also gave up nearly 200y rushing by Wisky. The biggest difference in that game was likely the one wisky turnover.

Both teams are about equal in team rushing defense giving up about the same number of yards/carry. No surprise, but UW's pass defense is considerably higher ranked. BYU's passing offense is ranked 120th while UW's is 29th.

Their passing game isn't their strength and stopping it is ours. UW should be able to drop 8 in a base defense that ignores their overuse of shifting at the line and push them to pass. I just don't see them balanced enough to push that defense around on their home turf.

Not particularly nervous about winning, but that line is a bit steep. Say maybe a 3 on the nerves meter?

They all get paid for hot takes. Doesn't matter if they are hot piles of shit.

BYU being ranked helps, but really only if they continue to play well after this week (assuming a UW victory of course) and I don't see that happening TBH. They do only have at boise state and at utah as their best games left so they should finish no worse than 8-4, but likely unranked.
